4 Reviews of the Langley 600

Used this tent twice so far. Good size, plenty of natural light. Pitching time - well allow 30 mins and get it setup right first time! I have the bundled footprint so this is useful for initial positioning of the tent.

Had some very heavy rain - no leaks! Not had to use the tension bands yet. Did fit them and found the ones in the main area do get in the way. Agree that the inner tent floor clips are a pain to release! I now take out the inner tent before packing the main tent as this reduces the amount of trapped air when folding the tent up.

I have added the porch door and the side awning to increase the tent area. Porch door comes with its own ground sheet and the now weatherproof area is big enough to eat in or sit out in. The side awning makes a good sized area to cook in and for storage. However, there is a sizeable draughty gap each side and during heavy rain, water can run off the main tent and onto the awning ground sheet! Despite everything, very pleased with the tent - just wish I bought the 2017 Air Beam version. The additional awnings etc zip into place on the main tent, but at 5 times the price.😳

Overall I really like this tent, but there are a few issues. At the risk of repeating what others have said:

Positives: sturdy in wind and rain, plenty of space in the living area, lots of bright windows, the porch area is a great feature and is useful for muddy shoes or sitting out, the sleeping area is dark enough to make a difference, the tent although large is reasonably easy to put up by the two of us.

Negatives: annoying fiddly plastic hooks to attach inner tent to the floor (my partner ended up using a spoon to detach them); lack of hooks to hang things from; lack of mesh on the front door (although it is nice and large).

We're really pleased with this tent.

Pros

*good size and height for a 6 berth tent

*porch area is excellent for storage and shelter - especially with the ground sheet

*large clear windows make it light and airy

*tension band system worked really well during high winds and we could see the difference when we disconnected them

Cons

*needs hanging points in the ceiling for lights

I like the 2015 model of this tent a lot and have had few problems. Please find my comments.

What I like:

---------

*large area and height, good sized living area

*Clear windows and privacy curtains good.

*Used a couple of times in wind (15-20 mph) and rain fairly heavy, no problems with leaks so far.

*Front porch/canopy is useful when exiting tent especially with groundsheet

*Some hanging points and electric hookup access point.

What I dislike:

-----------

*Awful plastic hooks (triangular) used to attach the inner to the floor, which are difficult to detach.

*No fly net on large front entrance

*Vent above side porch let's in too much air and can not be blocked, annoying if you are heating the tent (lose heat and causes drafts).

Additional comments re. Side awning:

------------------

*Awning has no privacy curtains

*On assembly awning leaves a large gap between tunnel and awning.

*In rain, water can sit on the awning, but did not leak

*Guy rope from tunnel tent, sit within awning, potential trip hazard

*A webbing strap is permanently attached at ground level at either side of the awnings dome, thus to assemble 'flush' you must remove the pegs of the tunnel tent, which is annoying, shame the webbing strap was not detachable at one end.

Manufacturer's Description

A bright, stylish and functional tunnel tent, the Langley has lots of internal living space with huge diamond clear windows for enjoying the view. There's also the added benefit of a pre-attached front extension with windows and a removable groundsheet, creating sheltered outdoor space. Vango's patented Tension Band System (TBS II®) can be used to increase stability in high winds for a more rigid structure, perfect for the British weather! Ideal for experienced camping families who know exactly what they want and need for going on a longer break away. Add in the covered side door, and other nice Vango touches like lantern loop, inner tent storage pockets, and mesh doors, and you'll find it hard to go home at the end of your trip.
