3 Reviews of the Midas 600

We have the 400 with the canopy. We had an Outdoor Revolution before great tent but hard work to put up, this however is so easy, we can have them both up in 30mins & be having a nice drink of wine. Lots of room inside, as only 2 of us we leave out 1 of the sleeping pods which gives us lots of room to sit and chill. Would recommend to anyone.

I have the 800 with the canopy and I love it, so much space, particularly like the fact that you don't have to put up all the bed pods so can have a cavernous internal space plus room to store thing in the canopy area.

Another plus is openings on both sides so you can't pitch it backwards :s

Canopy is a little fiddler for me tough as the tent is too tall for me to reach over so its a two man job.

Used this Midas 600 for the first time for a weekend in New Deer in Scotland where we were subjected to a 10 hour storm. Wind gusted to 40 miles per hour and were accompanied by lashing rain, nice. We were very pleased with the performance of this tent as we were snug as bugs and also bone dry, not a leak in sight, result. Inside the tent there are some webbing storm straps which the manufacturer calls a stability system and these really work very well. They stop the tent being pushed to one side by the wind which could result in the poles bending and maybe even snapping which has happened to us once with another tent. As a result of these straps our Midas 600 was very stable, the manufacturer says you can take the straps down if you know the weather is going to be good and there is little pockets to stow them in should you wish to do that, but we didn't find that they were in the way and we will leave ours rigged all the time. There are very good vents in this tent so not much condensation and the SIG is great as well. The zips were of good quality and didn't catch any material when used and both doors in this vis a vis tent have windows in them so you can see out when its raining and you are confined to the tent. There is a very spacious canopy that goes with this tent which we love because it goes right over the tent and pegs down on the other side making for a better fit, there is a door on the canopy and it comes with a loose ground sheet, it has large windows on it also. All in all a very handsome, strong, and robust tent with spacious bedrooms and a decent living area. We used Delta tent pegs but apart from that this tent gave us a sense of confidence that we never once worried that we would come to grief as the storm raged outside.

Manufacturer's Description

The Midas 600 camping tent from Vango is a 6 man tent perfect for the weekend explorer. This Vango tent has a central living area and a large bedroom either side which allows for plenty of privacy and space. The Midas 600 is a great large family tent but would suit groups of friends wanting to catch up. The Midas uses a stability system which means it will continue to be strong and sturdy in the worst of weather. Add the canopy to this tent to extend the living area outside. Canopy can be purchased separately.
