4 Reviews of the Omega 600 XL
By: Paulinsk Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2013 Rating:
Got this as a spare for it's wind resistance capabilities, easy pitching, head height, and the orange inner(s). Pitches in strong winds quite easily and stands up to 30mph winds fantastically as I slept through a windy night without noticing any jolts (earplugs helped). Really liked the morning orange glow in the bedroom, and the orange also keeps it lighter inside in the evenings. The only drawback is the lack of SIG (which helps with the wind resistance) however the gap to the ground is quite noticeable in places and bugs certainly wander about inside when the wind dies down.

Just completed 14 nights camping over seven campsites in the UK with my new Vango 600 XL.
Easy to pitch and take down (less than 10 minutes for 2 people).
Packs away into a small, neat and light package considering the size of the tent.
We slept 3 kids and a dog in the bigger pod with two adults sharing the small pod which nicely fits the Vango self inflating double mattress in.
Great tent for multi site / light weight camping with the benefits of Vangos usual good build quality.
At the price its a great bargain.
Thinking of selling my larger tent now!

Easy to pitch even on your own, lots of room in larger pod and you can stand in porch area tho the smaller pod is cramped for 2 adults.
In the Vango diagram it shows 2 side entrances when there is only one side door and one on the front which cant be used while the 2 man pod is in place. The windows are also not useable unless small pod is removed.
Handled heavy rain and fairly high winds with no complaints

I have just bought this tent and put it up today for the first time.
I have an Omega 350 which I have had for a few years and this is basically a larger version.
Very easy and quick to put up (Took me 15 minutes the first time I put it up). Well made with it's light weight alloy poles and 5000HH outer. Lots of useful pockets inside the two pods.
Packs down to a good size.
You can stand up inside the tent. If you remove the front pod you effectively have a 450 XL, with windows in the porch area and a front door/porch with zips either side at the front.
Put the pod back in and the only door is on the side.
It's got the TBS system to give it more rigidity.
As ever says it's a 6 berth feels more like a 4/5 berth. Could be 6 if you all got on very well.
Will add more comments once I have had a proper go in it.

Manufacturer's Description
A classic tunnel style tent with 2 separate bedrooms, perfect for weekend trips or families with older children. The Vango Omega 600XL is a generously sized tunnel tent with a large inner space and ample head room, that''s very simple to set up with its all-in-one pitching style..
A four man bedroom at the back of the tent maximises space in the living area, and the separate two man bedroom at the front of the tent while still provides space for camping companions or extra gear like bikes and rucksacks.
It''s perfect for trips where you can afford to carry a bit more weight or require a larger living space, and Vango''s TBSII tension system makes it safe and sturdy even in windy conditions.
The multiple flysheet doors give you the choice of entry from beither side, so you can arrange the tent against prevailing winds. The ''rain stop'' flysheet door can also be opened as a vent on warmer days.
Multiple reflective points on the pegging points help to pick up your torch light and make swetting up easier in the dark - and also stop you tripping over on a crowded campsite.
