7 Reviews of the Padstow 500

Our lovely Padstow 500 was the only tent left standing after at night of 40mph winds! It was nerveracking but we made it through!
That aside this tent is perfect for two adults and a dog if you like to have lots of space. The living area and the porch combined mean that it feels very airy and you can stand upright in all areas.
Throughly recommended :-)

Bought the bundle from Attwoolls on a visit to their store which gave us the advantage of comparing it to all the other similar tents.
It's easy to put up, just watch the one different pole that goes at the back as the markings on the tent are not very obvious.
Bedroom good size with lots of pockets for your bits and bobs. Living area excellent with large windows for light - perfect for two chairs, couple of kit boxes etc so you can sit and enjoy a game of cards or eat in relative comfort if it rains. Good headroom for tall people. Porch type bit at the front seemed a good idea for rainy weather but so far only used in the dry. The front door is really good because it has a separate mesh door so you can keep the bugs out but have ventilation.
Feel like we bought the right tent for us.

Our third Vango tent but bought new at £170.
Great quality tent and groundsheet but unfortunately I have to agree with others comments about the poles. One split on first outing and cord snapped on another.
It all still works but needs taping and repair.
I love the space inside and and the clear windows.
I should really mark it a seven for the pole issue but its still very usable and otherwise great.

We bought the Padstow 500 at a tent show about a month ago for £330 (tent, carpet, groundsheet and footprint groundsheet plus free side awning). It had it's first outing last weekend in Postern Hill forest. Torrential rain most of the weekend but we stayed bone dry inside. Very easy to put up/take down and dried out pretty quickly at home over the washing line when there was a few hours' respite from the rain. The bedroom size and seating area are perfect for us (a couple and a small dog). We love this tent and are really happy with it. Can't wait for the next outing when hopefully the sun will shine and we can make the most of the front porch this time!

Really pleased with this tent. Easy to pitch and ideal for the two of us. Plenty of room in the bedrooms and a nice sized area for sitting in. The canopy is ideal to cook under if weather not so good. Withstood a wet and windy weekend with no problems. The package is a good deal as includes footprint and carpet.

Brilliant layout, love the tent! Flysheet is of really good quality, along with all zips etc. However the one thing that lets this tent down massively is the poles! They are awful! Every time the tent is put up the poles snap. They are just not up to the job and are crap. It's a shame because otherwise this is a perfect tent! I want to recommend it but I really can't with the current poles. Vango really let this tent down unfortunately!

Used this tent for the first time in August bought as a weekend short break tent ,it's a fantastic tent well made and has some nice features .Paid £199 for this tent with foot print and carpet.Bedroom pod is a decent size with enough room for two double airs beds with space between. Both doors fully zip up to keep bugs out,and it's sturdy in windy weather.Well worth the money and would recommend to anyone that's why it got a 10 out of 10.
