1 Reviews of the Peace 300 Tepee
By: MissElaineous Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2009 Rating:
The smallest of the 3 polycotton tepees from Vango. Now discontinued, but they crop up on Ebay quite regularly. Supposed to be a 3 berth but can only fit 2 single air beds in, one either side of the central pole. Ideal for overnight stops or beach use. Would make a fantastic touring tent for one person, with a bed behind the pole and living space in front. Not full standing height, but plenty of headroom for getting dressed comfortably. Erects in a few minutes with just 1 pole, 10 ground pegs and 4 guy-ropes, but still feels very sturdy. The Tepee was out in very heavy rain and hail last week but it didn't let in a drop of water. As with the other tents in this range, can be a bit draughty with the uncovered vents at the bottom, but this does give excellent ventilation, as there was no condensation whatsoever this morning. I have bought some self-adhesive velcro strips to close the bottom of the door as there is only a vertical zip and not one across the bottom of the door. I have dyed and painted a cotton tarp to go with the tepee to give some protection to the slanting door. As to rating, lost points for lack of bottom zip and uncovered vents. All in all, very pleased with my latest buy. It's a fun tent camp in, but also a serious piece of camping equipment.
