2 Reviews of the Salina 400

We too wanted a polycotton, having had canvas frame tents in the past and preferring the extra comfort and protection. It's certainly easier to put up, but still takes some effort compared to lighter fibreglass tents. Inside is big enough for a young family of four, though you probably need to be the type that stores things away. The outer fabric and groundsheet feels like quality, but this does give extra weight and bulk. Still one big bag, rather than three! The awning is not as big as our previous French retro, but does a job. Only design fault would be resulting angle this gives the front and door and lack of hooks. Overall seems like an excellent choice, and a good deal cheaper than the Outwells.

Bought this tent in 2011 at a bargain price as we wanted to convert to polycotton - best thing we have ever done. Alloy poles are light and easy to put together and the tent is up in no time. The tent itself feels quality - only thing missing is a mesh inner door on the front door but we use the side door with the rainsafe cover. Ideal for 3 but we got 4 in when we had to. There are hand pockets in the bedroom and a pocket attachment in the living room. There is also a coat hanger for the bedroom which is handy. The bedrooms can be zipped down into one big one or two separate ones. I wouldn't recommend using the pegs that come with it as I use delta's for the guy ropes anyway. Downside is the windows don't zip out but the sewn in groundsheet feels very good quality and the tent stood up to the rain it has experienced so far with no leaks. Very good tent all in all.

Manufacturer's Description
The simple tunnel structure of the Vango Salina 400 gives fantastic usable space. Large living areas with great head height are invaluable when the weather isn’t so good. The covered front porch will be your favourite place to lounge on sunny days and the natural place for your family to gather at night. When it is time to turn in, there is no need to literally crawl into bed as the generous head space in the bedrooms makes getting dressed (or undressed) much easier.
