1 Reviews of the Tahiti Air 600XL
By: Terry64 Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2019 Rating:
Purchased in 2019 so had many nights out in different conditions.
The tent has three compartments Bedroom with black out curtains that can be removed to make three/two or one bedroom, we have one bedroom as only two of us use the tent.
We can get a double fold up bed and two side tables in with plenty of room to walk round.
The middle room has two doors one each side of the tent along with a window on each side giving plenty of light, there is loads of room we have two large blow up chairs with table in between and a table with our TV on again loads of room to walk around.
The front room is a little smaller and does not have the sewn in groundsheet, there is a small door on one side with a porch over the outside to keep rain out if opening when raining, the front of the tent can be fully opened or just partial opened with many different ways of opening it.
We had a problem with the front airbeam from new, when it rained we ended up with a puddle on the roof but could not work out why this happened until I purchased a new airbeam, turned out the original beam had a slight twist in it from new.
We have had the tent out in very high winds and unfortunately although the tent has stood up very well we have had minor damage, two of the tie downs where you peg have ripped off, Vango repaired one under warrantee.
The front beam did blow in while in Wales in 70mph gusts but just sprung back out, if it was fibre glass poles they would of broken.
We have had zero leaks even in torrential rain.
The tent is ideal for a family of six or less with loads of room, we are just the two of us as we like room.
There are three electric main access points and also points to pass cables from room to room.
You can stand up in all parts of the tent even if you are tall, no ducking down under the door ways.
Pitching time takes us around 30 minutes to get the tent up and fully pegged down, taking it easy no rush, we purchased the electric pump to make life easy, you can start moving stuff into the tent while the rest is still inflating.
Packing away takes around 20 minutes, very easy just release the valves and it flattens, easy to fold with two adults but you can do it alone, comes with easy pack bag that has wheels, once tent is folded and rolled you just slip the bag over it.
The hardest part is lifting the tent into the car due to weight.
The only real problem we have with this tent is some sites say it is to large for there site or others ask for higher pitch fee
Very good tent if you are a little older or have problems with your joints as no bending and crouching in/out, which is one of the reasons we purchased it, the other reason was ease of pitching the tent.
