Pros

Managed to get one of these from Blackburn OA looked like a real bargain and guess what, it was. Really weatherproof very spacious for one built for two and no problem due to the extra storage of the two door system. Got some strong winds on it last winter and held like a rock. Able to cook in bad conditions again due to the two door access and the ability to drop only part of the door a bit heavy for one man back packing but take it on the chin cause if it gets bad at least you will be safe and sound. I even used this tent for carp fishing due to the side on to the door design while I was waiting for my Bivi to arrive and you can get your bed chair in their as long as you open it inside that was a real test for size as any carp fisherman would know. Any way great tent really glad I’ve got this. Oh and I like the windows to.

Cons

Easy to pitch.Eh No! It can be a right pain to get the poles through on your own so you must practice first also if its blowing hard this task will zap your energy and patients quickly. But that’s all part of the adventure. Isn’t it? It does get better if you’re just doing the fly sheet only first. Heavy condensation can also be a bit of a problem when you’ve baton down the hatches and ventilation is at its minimum which is another reason why probably this tent isn’t made any more.

Conclusion

I can live with its problems because when this tent is up it stays up for a lower budget all season tent of over £110.00 I have confidence in it and you need that when your wild camping as some of you will know and dare I say it “It bleeding well looks good to”

Excellent tent, wind, water or cooking it fits the bill. Stable design for wild weather. After a cold night it can have condensation inside the fly, this is not a fault but due to the very good waterproofing that the flysheet provides. This can be avoided using the ventilation available, such as unzipping the inner doors a touch for cross ventilation. Would buy another, 300 as it's 3 persons but it's not manufactured anymore, a Vango classic.

2nd Backpacking tent we have owned. This time we took our time looking at the practical use - ie ensuring we could both fit in it alongside our backpacks, and cook in it if the weather dictated. This really fits the bill. Having a door each side means you can both get out easily with out disturbing the other, means you can get a nice air flow through the tent, also gives options of ventilation with different wind directions. The fact it is fly sheet first means you can use it easily as a quick shelter in storms as well, there is also plenty of room to remain in the dry whilst you pack everything away, inner tent included in wet weather. The multi zips give excellent options for how you have the main doors open. The only one thing we can think of is that it would be useful if the inner doors rolled back on the outside and not the in. But minor point. We can also add that if you have the Vango therma rest mats, two of the chair kits can be put side by side in here for a comfortable sit down after along walk.

This is a fantastic tent with masses of space. There's two entrances/exits and because the porch is on the sides to where you sleep (rather than at your head or feet) it is much bigger and wider than normal giving you even more space. It's very easy to put up for one person, fairly lightweight and a good design which has withstood Scottish winds last year for me! Well recommended
