2 Reviews of the Utopia 400 Airbeam

This is a lovely tent for two people.
Ignore manufacturers descriptions, these are just a guideline. For two people to camp comfortably you need a four man tent.
With that in mind, this tent gives you a double bedroom, another room for your camping toilet/wardrobe/utility room, space enough for two chairs of any size including the patio recliners we take, a kitchen, a small table for cards/preparing food etc and a 36QT coolbox - all with plenty of room to walk around inside. All this with the added luxury of polycotton! No condensation, no crispy rattling in the wind and a tent that will last for as long as we look after it.
If it had an eyebrow pole on the side door and the front awning was long enough to cover a cooker (I don't want to buy a separate awning - all tent manufacturers know we are supposed to cook outside a tent that has a sewn in groundsheet and should make their tents accordingly) then this would be the perfect tent for two people.
I love this tent. It has lots of curtained windows, is warm when it's cold and cool when it's warm - if you have never had a polycotton tent then this may surprise you but it is true.
Treat yourselves! It is honestly worth it. (but buy a dehumidifier as well, you don't want mildew ruining your lovely polycotton tent!)

Just used the tent for the second time this year. Must say.We love it!
When you get the tent it is in a colour matched wheeled holdall. I think the wheel bit is a waste of time when its to be used on a campsite/grass pitch. It is very heavy and with it using the airbeam technology it is not possible to separate the fabric and frame to make lifting in and out of the car any easier so I take hubby or teenage son to help with the lifting lol.
In the holdall there is the tent with the bedroom/s already inside it, a two way pump with pressure gauge, mallet and a full set of Vango plastic power pegs.
It is easy to pitch. Just open it out and peg the corners, unzip the airbeam valve access points, inflate the beams to about 7psi using the supplied pump (support to the beams as they are inflated helps a lot), screw on the valve caps, close the access points and then finish pegging and guying out. All this can be done in under 10 mins.
Inside the tent is a very usable space. There are two sets of internal storm straps to give further stability. The bedroom has a zipped divider to enable the space to be used as one or two bedrooms. The bedrooms just hold a standard airbed each with no room for kit so not good really for 4 adults but would be fine for two adults and a couple of younger kids. The dark green fabric of the sleeping area means you are not woken up at first light. The living area is a good size with good sized windows that have curtains which zip up and when down go into the inbuilt pockets. There are two doors. The one to the side is a fair weather door as with the angle of it would let rain or snow in. The front of the tent though is flat and has a very small canopy to stop the wet stuff getting in. This was one of the features that sold us on this tent.
The tent being made of polycotton means that it is warmer in poor weather and does not have the problems of condensation that other airbeams are reported to have.
We found the tent may be a little too small for longer stays in poor weather for 3 adults so we have purchased the additional canopy as a socialising space for when camping with friends.
There were only a couple of niggles that I had. These are that there are no cable tidies for when using an electric light and that the manufacturers description that it has a miniside canopy over the door (it does not).
It has been admired by many campers onsite and the local scout group.
Tips-Make sure you can lift it and shop around as prices vary lots.
