Love the combination of this tent, vis a vis. We have added the extension and it makes a fab kitchen allowing you to cook in the rain. It isn't a great fit, but is worth getting. Other brand extensions may fit better. This tent is now 4 years old for us and we use it two or three times a year, so we've had a good run for our money. We've had some heavy rain in the past and we have been leak free, although condensation can be confused with leaks. If I had to buy another tent, I would get this style again.

I also bought this tent in Millets.By mistake actually. I had a tent from Blacks - which is their sister company. It was Blacks own make, a 6 man and a great tent, but on our first trip, it leaked. I was really disappointed but went straight back to shop and they refunded full price which was £180. Excellent service. Then went to Millets and opted for the Vango - at the same price and my preferred brand. As it was the same price as the 6 man, I stupidly assumed it was the same size. It was only once I'd paid for it that the salesman mentioned it was an 8 man! But even though there's only 4 of us (3 now that one of the kids doesn't want to camp anymore) I figured it'd be great to have more space.

It was! That's the brilliant thing about this tent. With hindsight I'd only use one half to sleep in and I'd use other bedrooms for storage as we each had a bedroom and it was freezing! I had to go and buy more blankets. We were used to snuggling into 1 room, but even though the kids are older now and like their own space, I think 2 bedrooms is enough room. I have to say it was a nightmare to put up cos I'm just a small woman and I had practiced beforehand, but even with one teen's help (just me and 3 kids on our camping trips, not hubby's idea of fun) it was a bit of a lengthy process. It would definitely benefit from windows too. Bit dark inside!

The weather was rubbish on the holiday, it rained every day. We were in Aviemore for a week in July and we were plagued by mice and midgies (and a couple of stroppy teens), and I admit I'd rather had my fill by the end of it. So much so that I vowed it was my last camping trip. It wasn't, though I've yet to use the Vango again.Which I will be doing, because I've realised what a fab tent it really is (after spending 5 nights in a tiny tent this week it'll be great to have all the space the Vango allows).

We bought this one from Blacks about four years ago but all attempts to put it up have failed. The instructions on the carry bag are quite vague and tiny diagrams don't mean much to us. We've just got it out again for the Summer 2013 and I checked the Vango website, but it's discontinued.

Looks like a sound tent but the instructions are not enough for a first time user to erect it, it costs very little to write out proper instructions and avoid ' this may not be your model'. I could make a you tube video or they could include a DVD for a few pounds.

We bought this tent 4-5 years ago on sale in millets, Got a free cooker with it too, we've been camping most years in generally very English weather (occasional sun and mostly showers and windy) we have three children over 10 and two under 3, we love the amount of space you have in this tent we bought it intending to cook and sit in the main living area which we did for the first 2 years 5 sitting at the table a cupboard and cooker and side table all in the middle section of the tent.We wanted to make sure that we could all sit in the tent and play games etc in bad weather it is great for that.

We then discovered the Kalahari porch from go outdoors which is compatible with it we bought that 2.5/3 years ago so I could cook away from small crawling babies and we would have somewhere to store the pushchair at night. It will be a long time before we buy another tent, we have 4 ample bedrooms (when you section them off) and now a large porch big enough to cook in and store bikes and pushchair.

We did have trouble with the poles and figuring out the groundsheet at the start, we have never had leaks broken zips etc, built in groundsheet would be great but its fine without, in fact now we have the porch most of the wet (from footprints) stays out of the main tent and I'm now looking for a compatible carpet. In my opinion a great value large family tent

I was concerned when I read the above comments but our tent was perfect in the gales this August - it was so sturdy that I managed to sleep through the thunder storm from lack of worry. It is a great size and having the two compartments means that we can keep everything out of the way so that the middle section provides a great living area during inclement weather. I agree about the lack of an all in one groundsheet although I have to say that we did not experience pools of water even during the two torrential downpours. Before we went on holiday I wanted to upgrade to the all in one groundsheet but I am pleased that we saved our money and stuck with it as it kept us nice and dry.

We bought this tent from Blacks in their sale for £169 to take the family on their first camping trip. The tent is easy to set-up taking about 45 minutes from scratch. The design means the tent is very stable and does not move much in the wind. There are 4 bedrooms and a large living area (the middle two of the four sections) and the only difficulty we had was working out how the groundsheet fitted in the living area. We first used it in 2009 in the Peak District during their wettest summer and it did not let us down. We used the tent a further two times before passing on to my sister in law who has used it as well without event.

One not of caution - we bought a porch awning for a later model and this was not a good fit due to slight design changes!

For calm weather conditions and a lengthy family holiday this tent fits the bill. If there is likely to be strong winds, it doesn't cope so well. A camping trip to Cornwall with strong winds resulted in 2 broken poles and a substantial tear and we had to abandon that night.

It's fairly simple to put up but needs two people really. The groundsheet isn't that clear with no instructions that help. The two rooms are of a good size but with young children some of the attachments for the partitions didn't last more than one trip.

On first use, and in very tranquil weather we loved our Vango. Pitching was straight forward [2 persons needed for ease]. It housed 2 adults, 2 young children & a medium sized dog with plenty of room to spare.

The standing room within the living area is great. Lots of door options [3 in total] and it looks good too.

We got ours for £160, from Blacks. It would probably be overpriced at it's full RRP of £350.

Possibly a 'stitched in' ground sheet would help. I think the new version [think it's called the Tigris?] of this tent looks like it has one.

We are still having fun in our Verona. It as been the bast thing we bought in 2008! This year we have camped from N.Yorkshire to The Cotswolds, we have travelled far and the tent as got better and better. We have had tons of rain and not one leak! it has stood its ground with the wind and survived with only 1 splintered pole! not bad !

We have this year enjoyed this tent with our 3 children, we have cooked and slept, ate and ate some more. We are sad to have packed it away now ready for next year. A tent that in my eyes as done what a tent is meant to do!

Looking forward to next year and planning lots of weekends away!

Just bought this tent from Millets Half price plus %20 part exchange for our old Gelert, first impressions not as good quality as the gelert, With the help (or hindrance) of 7yr twins we erected it in an hour, again time wasted trying to figure out the ground sheet, the salesman told me it was a built in ground sheet, I was very annoyed to find out it was`nt.

My impression is that this is a budget tent even the pegs were cheap and nasty, the zip for the door kept on getting stuck when opened from the inside due to the waterproof zip cover, this is very annoying when it`s raining and you have to go outside to free it off while the inside gets wet.

I bought this tent on impulse because it was vango having used vangos 30 years ago in the scouts and D of E, they used to be the best, not any more, Its annoying that vango stick a price of £399 on and then reduce it to £199 to make us think we`re having a bargain come on Vango and Millets you`re not selling carpets or sofa`s, don`t take your customers for mugs cause we won`t use you any more there are other companies just as good if not better.

To sum up this tent is ok for a long weekend but I would not like it for more than a week in wet and windy weather just seems so flimsy the wind gets under the flysheet. You can get better for your money.
