5 Reviews of the Zambezi 500 DLX

Best tent we have had. Bought in a sale when a camping shop closed down and got it at a bargain price with the footprint ground sheet. Been out in all weathers with this tent and no problems.

Now we are well practised at erecting the tent it takes us around 30 mins to put up. Plenty of room for all our gear and 2 kids!

Only down side to this is that unlike the aspen 500 which has an inner first erection the Zambezi 500 has no inner and so by the doors there are gaps where the wind does get in although it is classed as a fully sewn in ground sheet!

The tent does get very hot in nice weather and the fly sheet doors are fantastic and the tent is very well lit with all the windows.

Tent is very heavy with all poles and as the large tent pole bag is so big I can't get it in my trailer so it has to go in the boot! But overall my family and I totally love this tent and my dad owns the aspen and even he loves the extra room the Zambezi has on the front so he had to buy the canopy extension to replicate this!

Bought this tent in the January sales this year. We have only used it once but it had everything thrown at it and withstood it very well. It poured with rain the first night we used it and did not leak. It was very windy, and withstood that well. We have had many tents, and have found this one to be the best as we have room for the cooker in the tent. The windows let in lots of light, and it can get very warm in the sun. The only let down was the doors are not zipped at the bottom, so can be drafty.

We love our Zambezi. We originally wanted an Amazon 600 but found it lacking in character and light. The Zambezi is possibly the lightest tent I have been in. The windows are crystal clear and I love the pockets to put the covers into keeping everything tidy.

The tent took us over an hour to erect but it was our first time. I'd highly recommend the footprint as this was a superb way of knowing your pitching direction and size.

We bought an extra sun canopy to add to the front but had no need for it as there is plenty of canopy and space.

I love my Vango Zambezi 500dlx tent it has everything I could wish for, except for the main bedroom which is quite smaller than the aspen. Guyed it out and seems quite stable all round. Very impressed with it. Had the rain fall on it and no leaks, everything works fab.

Having owned many tents over the years the Zambezi has to be one of the best looking tents I have seen. I must say it is very simple to erect but.

Our 1st one leaked through the material and our replacement leaked from every window zip, lamp holder and also above the inners. This is not mentioning the unfinished door zip that would not allow us to zip the tent shut. Very drafty and sounds as if the tent will blow away in windy conditions. The rear of the tent should have had additional support as in high winds the guy ropes can break free and the tent in my opinion will go air borne. Sounds as if the Aspen better quality.
