3 Reviews of the Campo 3P

This is my go-to tent for casual camping trips. I've had it about 8 years and used it loads. Best features are two entry points (handy for sheltered cooking in poor weather), plenty of head and floor space all round for its size, flexible porch spaces, quick and easy to put up, well made (have been in very high winds in it), outer up first.
Least favourite features - don't like the shape of the inner doors or the fact they are only mesh at the top (over time this mesh has snagged on velcro and got quite scruffy), you won't believe how much trouble I've had trying to replace a pole (it should be simple). But even with a temporary pole repair splint it has survived many outings. Great tent for the price.

Usual good build quality from Vaude, although they have replaced the handy hooks on the doors with plastic clips which I didn't like!
*Simple to put up, took me under 5 minutes and is like a drum. I was initially concerned about getting an inner first tent for our unpredictable weather but since putting it up and I'm sure I can pitch it quicker my concerns have been eased.
*4 ventilation openings, I recommend all 4 open to minimize condensation build up.
*Plenty of space for 2 with kit utilising the 2 entry points, I think too tight for 3 with kit.
Overall I'm really pleased with it.

Just done 3 nights wild canoe camping in scotland with this tent and really impressed. In the past I have used Vango tents, the vaude is far better quality than anything I have used before.
The inner pitches first - this is something that put me off as the tent can get wet whilst you are pitching it. In practise the tent is up so quick it makes no difference. There is no feeding poles thru sleeves, two poles cross and the inner hangs off the poles, you can then move the inner to exactly where you want it, peg one corner then put the fly over the top. There is no way the inner will touch the outer as the separation distance is very good.
The two doors are fantastic, plus each door way can be opened from either side so you can always have a door open and be sheltered from the wind/rain/sun. One doorway can be filled with kit without having to climb over it. Rain does not drip into the tent with the door open. I would pitch facing the view then use the other door until the wind/rain stopped. As the door is the full width of the tent you get a good view outside. Open both doors and the wind dries the tent really really quickly.
Wind speed was was 40mph but the tent didnt move or flap, there are extra guys but didnt need them.
The downside is the thin groundsheet, its not the lightest of tents. It doesn't come with the extra 4 pegs for the extra lines but not sure if it really needs them. For me this is a one or two man tent with some great features. Cost me £130 at Gooutdoors and knocks spots off any of my previous tents.
