8 Reviews of the Eagle 6

Bought this tent second hand for £120 including the footprint and carpet - what a bargain!

As first time campers with three young children (7, 5 & 1) and the two of us we were nervous about how hard it would be to get the tent up and how much space we'd have. We shouldn't have worried.

The tent was great - took about 40 minutes to get it up and about the same down. Only problems were really with the bedrooms as we struggled go follow the instructions to get them up but managed it no problem when we relied on common sense!

I think 6 in the bedrooms would be a stretch but it was perfect for 5. The canopy at the front was great and the tent was huge compared to some of the Vango and Outwells which needed the extension to make them anywhere near the same size.

We have just got back from a long weekend in our Eagle 6 (which was bought second hand at the end of the season last year) apparently 2009 model. I have been itching to use it, and am so glad we managed to get away at Easter. We had near perfect weather (unusual for UK) and had such a great time.

Firstly, the tent is really easy to put up. It took us 1/2 and hour to put up and a further 1/2 hour to adjust, set up and guy out. I am sure we will be quicker next time.

The tent living area is HUGE! which will be great when we do get those miserable days as you wont feel trapped. There are 4 windows that let in the light as well as 3 doors.

I love the no-see-um mesh on the 2 side doors that give you privacy,as well as letting the air in.

The bedrooms also have mesh at the tops to let the air in whilst you sleep, but don't let in the nasty bugs! I would say that this is probably more a 5 birth than 6, but I think all tents are like this.We are a family of 4 (2 boys 13 and 10) and it was perfect for us.

I love the built in groundsheet (again keeping out the bugs) and the porch is a real added bonus. Great for cooking in when the weather is not so great.

As you may have guessed, I really love this tent. The space is great and the quality matches.

We are booked for 2 weeks in the Loire Valley for the summer and I have no worries about spending that amount of time in this tent. My movable Hotel as I like to call it.

I would definitely recommend this tent, if you can get hold of one.

Fantastic. We got this as our first family tent in May 2008 and used it a good five or six times and loved it. It was cheaper than Outwells and similar, but was well worth the money and were happy with the choice. Main two week holiday to Devon / Cornwall was extremely comfortable in this tent - we were fortunate enought to get the one good week Devon had in 2008 and the one good week Cornwall got ! The vents and large canopy made this ideal. Also had a couple of wet weekends where there was extreme rain and wind and the tent coped admirably (note however, this was third time lucky - the first two leaked; hence 9 and not 10).

The shape is ideal; we are a family of two adults and two kids (7 and 10). Immense living space, meshed doors, large canopy, as mentioned. Easy to erect after first couple of goes, and easy to take down and pack. I will upload a photo when I can.

This year we have 'upgraded' purely to try a different style tent, but I will not be letting go of the Eagle as basically, I love it.

Absolutely fantastic. In my opinion this tent cannot be beaten for the price(we paid £199 @ UBC). There is only hubby and I with small dog and we could have had a dance there is so much space (I'll just have to buy more gear and a trailer to carry it). We used the single room for the loo and storage and with the divider opened between the other two rooms we were able to put our double super height airbed with space to walk down both sides. As has been mentioned before it would be a bit of a squeeze for 3 double airbeds but with that in mind it is a fantastic bit of kit and easy to put up. We also purchased the footprint which makes it very easy to make sure you stay on your own pitch and don't incur the wrath of site owners or indeed have to pay extra, as well as giving extra protection and insulation.

Oh wow! Just returned from 2nd camping trip - 5 days after first we enjoyed it so much. The tent is easy to pitch and so spacious. The front porch is ideal for cooking in any weather and the bedroom pods were great - our two single luxury mattresses meant we needed to unzip and use two pods together. Our first camp was windy and drizzly - no problems our tent (now named Robin) coped admirably. Second camp was blue sky and sunshine - and 'Robin' was great with the side doors open and mozzie nets up.

Happy campers - would recommend to anyone

Having done research on what tent to buy I decided to go for the Eagle 6. This tent is huge and is right on the size limit that most sites will allow for a single pitch so be careful if getting a larger tent !. The tent was easy to put up but does need two people and may take a little while the first time. The flysheet is sewn in so no nasty draughts or unwanted creepy crawlies and the canopy at the front is a godsend when cooking in unfavourable weather !. The 5000 Hydrostatic Head is a comfort to know when camping in the UK although been lucky enough not to have been tested in a downpour. All in all I don't think I could have purchased a better family tent and highly recommend this one.

We have just finished our first weekend in this tent and found it to be very comfortable indeed. Even though we had only seen this tent up once before the pitching was very easy and straight forward. The space inside means should you have have to battle with awful weather at any time you have room to move about. Also the canopy is a god send for cooking giving good ventilation but brilliant shelter. My only query would be that the 3x2 bedrooms are not quite double airbed friendly having to squeeze them in slightly.

This tent has made us think we could now camp whatever the weather. I would highly recommend this tent.

This is the 2nd tent we have bought in a year as the 1st one was rubbish. Having purchased the Wynnster Eagle 6 on the Tuesday we were setting up the following Monday at Loch Lomond. The tent is easy to erect with clear instructions but needs 2 people, very spacious inside and the bedroom combinations mean you can have rooms to suit all. The side door netting kept the famous Scottish Midges out but provided good ventilation and the built in ground sheet was excellent. Little things like the front porch was very handy for cooking in and the inner ground sheet by the front door could be raised and lowered as required. Last night of camping saw gale force winds and heavy rain but the tent stood firm and the only leakage was on the side door seems but I think that was just where the wind blew it in with force! We also purchased a footprint groundsheet for this particular tent which I would also recommend as it means you have a full groundsheet within the front porch plus extra protection throughout.

All in all I would highly recommend this tent to anyone as it made me feel that I could easily spend a few weeks in it and camping is not my first choice of accommodation.

Gave it 9 out of 10 as nothing is perfect!
