4 Reviews of the Hawk 8
By: Antonydemi Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2010 Rating:
What a fabulous piece of kit, my wife, who hates camping helps erect it with me and we have it up in about 20 minutes! Its that easy, I'm always amazed at friends tents who we camp with that don't have sewn in ground sheets or inner tents, etc, we stay warm, dry comfortable and more so, were not dripping wet in the morning with condensation, big inner rooms, porch is small but then its the entrance, its only drawback to me is I cant get the porch sides to look smooth, they always wrinkle. This quality tent has kept us out there, in all weathers, inc 2 somewhat cosy 2 degree nights on the trot, over midsummer 2 years ago! With My wife disliking the outdoor life, I have looked long and hard to find something to replace it, nothing out there cuts the mustard! So it's not for sale

I bought this tent off eBay and reserved judgement on it until I had actually tested it, which was 3 weeks later. At first I was a bit concerned as the instructions were sewn in and I expected more visual aids. I need not have worried. It took me and my partner about an hour to fully erect the tent, in very windy weather in North Wales. This was our first serious camping trip and our little boy was with us, so we had no back up plan. The poles are colour coded, the limited instructions are very easy to follow, and the tent was draught free. It kept much of the warmth in from the daytime sun so we did not suffer too much. It swallowed a large double blow up mattress in one of the berths, and our son slept soundly in the other berth. To say its a bit large for our first time is an understatement, however now its been used, we will happily grow into this and look forward to the years ahead. All in all a bargain buy (£80) there were no rips or tears (both types) and having expected something to go partially wrong, an extremely good tent.

A durable, easy to erect , high quality tent, offering good value for money and extremely spacious sleeping and living areas ( although the porch area was the only let down space-wise)
We were extremely happy with the hawk 8, but unfortunately we sold it as we decided to look for something smaller- we now have a tent from tesco. We wish we had kept the hawk 8 now. Enough said!

I've just returned from a extremely windy, relentlessly rainy and badly planned trip to the peak district.
However, the one pleasing aspect was the tent and how it faired.
I was able to erect the tent within an hour. One or two of the more experienced campers may be a little perplexed that I feel that this is a particularly quick, but I did this with the assistance of 3 nine years olds(enough said?)
Throughout the night curled up with kids I had visions of the tent disappearing, along with us 'over the hills and faraway'. I was then very surprised that, even with the wind at such a ferocious level the tent remained rock solid and completely dry. The only downside is the size of the porch. Apart from that excellent!

Manufacturer's Description
The Wynnster Hawk 8 tent pitches inner first therefore benefiting from an INTEGRAL SEWN IN GROUNDSHEET THROUGHOUT. This protects the whole inside of the tent from draughts and insects.
This is a great tent for weekends away or for small families.
Other key features of the Hawk 8 are the PVC windows which allow light in and pre-angled pole joints that maximise the internal headroom and space. The bedrooms roll up allowing you to use one or both of them therefore altering the size of the living area. The two large doors are ideal for flexible access to the tent in all weather conditions.
The Wynnster Hawk is also available in a 4 berth version.
The packed size is approximately 72x34x48cm
