2 Reviews of the Orion 7

Bought this tent at the end of last summer after looking at the Pegasus 7 but didn't like the idea of not having a sewn in ground sheet.

Did some research on the net and came across the Orion 7 that had got a sewn in ground sheet and also has a large porch area, two fully opening windows, two side doors, one front door with king poles and fly screens on all doors and windows.

Used it for the first time in September on a windy and wet weekend and was very happy how it stood up to the test.

Went away again on the May bank holiday and again had a wet break but once again was pleased with how the tent stood up to the strong winds and no leaks.

Probably the only down side of this tent would be the fact that it is inner pitch first but it is fairly easy to put up, only takes about 30 mins and then a bit of time to adjust guy lines. So if putting up in the rain it might get a little wet inside but because of such a large living area it would soon dry out, because like most tents it soon heats up once the sun comes out.

Bedrooms are very spacious double air bed in one with lots of room down the side to store bags and get changed, two single air beds in the other for the kids with space to walk down the middle. Also full standing room in both bedrooms and again doors have fly screens.

All in all a great tent for the price lots of space and it still only takes up a normal pitch, it needs a 10m x 8m plot inclusive of the guy lines. Porch area is about 2m x 1.6m with sloping door plenty of room for a porta loo and shoes and the Living area is about 4.5m x 3.5m, takes 4m x 3m carpet nicely with folding table and chairs in middle. Still got lots of space around edges for cooker, table and other seating.

Looking forward to some great holidays with a great tent.

This was our 1st ever tent and the one that made us realise we really did love camping.

I love that you can have 2 separate bedrooms or one big bedroom! We mainly had 2 separate rooms but I could just zip the bottom bit in between the rooms to check my kids were ok and all wrapped up without moving from my bed!

The space in the living area is great. We had a really rainy, week long trip away with friends and we had 3 table and chair sets all in a line down the middle of the living room!with space to spare!

We also had no leaks at all and it really was put to the test.

Another real plus is that for all the space you get,it fits on a standard pitch. Its just on the limit for the width so you don't need to pay for 2 pitches like you do with wide tents.

It is pretty easy to pitch and we had no problems.

We sold the tent to a friend as we wanted a bigger porch but for the price we paid (£180.00) this tent is a star.
