5 Reviews of the Shrike 6
By: BigJohnD Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2010 Rating:
We've owned and used this tent for several years now. It's remarkably robust for such a lightweight tent though it must be awfully cramped for 6 people - we see it as a generous 2 person tent!
We have suffered a small tear in the inner tent's ground sheet and side door zip is proving troublesome but after 5 or 6 years of what amounts to abuse (a mud bath at Spa Francorchamps, several déluges in the France and gale force winds in Wales) we have little complain about.
The impending failure of the door zip is likely to be reason for buying another!

We bought this because it was big and cheap and you can stand up in it! We had previously camped in a tiny 2man dome which was cosy but not really suitable for the more mature camper. This is perfect; we can pitch and strike it quickly and easily. We've camped in monsoon rain in Cornwall, drizzle in Somerset, sunshine in Wales and Herefordshire and Yorkshire; a pole snapped in the gales but was easily splinted with a pole from the porch extension. It's great for sitting in all cosy in the rain and there's plenty of room for visitors to the campsite to shelter too! The storage area at the back is handy and the front porch area is ideal for wet gear and a kitchen (with the door open for ventilation:don't want carbon monoxide inside!)
We have been and still are really pleased we bought this; it has converted my husband to tent camping.

I also only paid 69.00 for my tent bought last years model 09 in feb 10
Been camping for 2 nights and found it great but the test really came when we went camping in Norfolk this summer hmm summer well out of 2 weeks it rained off and on most nights and the odd day with one really heavy thunder storm
I am pleased to say it didn't leak at all and a very roomy inner bedroom area if for 2 or 3 adults with plenty of room it would be perfect for 2 adults and 1 child it took 15 mins to put up and even quicker to put away and hope to use it more next year even weather permitting we know its warm and dry the other area is large enough to put camping table and 2 chairs in and all bags and coolboxes are easily stored in there
We love this tent 10/10

We love this tent! The living area is not massive but there are only two of us and a greyhound and we have loads of room.
We recently went away with some other friends who both have similar sized but different make tents, this takes half the time to put up and is not half as complicated as others!
We have slept four adults and I think you would be stretched with six and kit but apart from that I have no negative comments.

Excellent tent! Only paid £69.99 for this online at Singers Outdoors. We downsized from a 6 berth tent with three pods to this for three of us. Although the living area is fairly small, this isn't a problem as we like to be outside as much as possible!
It is so easy and quick to put compared to our now redundant Eurohike Ullswater. We pitched it in fairly windy conditions with no problems at all. The attention to detail is brilliant and, as with all Wynnster tents, it comes with an emergency repair kit. Exceptionally good value for money for a great name in tents.
