2 Reviews of the Jetstream

We bought a secondhand Jetstream from a very satisfied owner via ebay. We had been pondering getting the Zempire Mothership, but decided on this one as it was secondhand and therefore considerably cheaper than a new tent. We find it is brilliant.

We have only used it once, in the Summer of 2015, for 16 days in Europe. During this time we pitched the tent 5 times. We love the way it's pitched as you peg down the tent first(having a sewn in groundsheet this is all pegged down together). Then, once this is done, insert the two longest poles, and up the tent goes. No fear of it blowing away as it's already been securely pegged. It goes up quickly, especially if there are a few of you involved in pegging etc.

This is a very spacious tent, with plenty of ways of keeping it cool with opening doors, windows and the whole ventilation system which creates an airy interior. We had a Kyham rigidome prior to this tent, and the living area is bigger in the Jetstream. Sleeping areas are big. In the description above it says 'sleeps 4'. Well we had 5 in ours, and would have slept all 7 of us inside if we'd stopped off in France on the way home. (Instead we chose to travel through the night, but this shows what you can do with this tent, yes, you can sleep 7 if you have to - bearing in mind 4 of these were younger children.)

There are a various sewn in storage pockets inside when are also very helpful, together with loops for hanging lamps etc.

At 6 metres square it takes up quite an area, but this was never a problem. As the previous reviewer mentioned, in stronger winds there is some flapping noises. But we had a very heavy storm, with thunder and lightning, when we were camped at over 3,000 feet and this tent was fine. No leaking, no problems (just a bit scary, as the storm seemed to be 'in the campsite').

I'd recommend this tent thoroughly. The fabric is tougher than any other 'nylon' tent we've owned, everything well thought through and made. Absolutely brilliant. (If you want the Mothership, it's basically the same dimensions with 3 pods instead of the 2 of this tent.)

I've taken my Jetstream camping twice since mid August. I love this tent! We pitched on the first campsite in the dark during a thunderstorm - luckily I had a quick trial run in daylight a couple of days earlier so knew how it went up, the exterior of the tent stopped any water entering the tent - even thought we hadn't actually got it up by this time.

The thunderstorm that continued through the first night was the heaviest I have ever experienced camping - on checking the interior we remained totally dry! We didn't experience the greatest weather during our holidays and didn't get a chance to enjoy the airflow roof at it's full potential. The tent really stood up to some seriously wet and windy conditions and kept us dry throughout.

We took one pod and used our tent for two people and a dog - without the second pod we have a really good size living space (great for when the weather was really poor).

The tent is easy to pitch using colour coded poles and sleeves. The fabric drys quickly and is very good at repelling water, keeping the interior dry.

The only thing that I've found that could be improved are the flaps on the airflow roof, you need to pull the straps tight during windy/wet conditions (most of our holidays), on doing so the flaps meet the roof cover and brush against it when the wind blows, you get used to it.

I'd recommend this tent 100% and am looking forward to seeing what Zempire have to offer the UK market in the coming years. I've owned Coleman up until this point, and after experiencing Zempire I don't think I'll ever be going back :)

Manufacturer's Description

The Jetstream is a spacious family dome tent with two rooms located on either side of a central living area.

Removable inners let you alter the layout and a 2.2m internal height gives a greater feeling of space inside. It also features twin wet area vestibules for greater storage space and increased stability.

The Jetstream has a 360 degree front & rear door which allows a huge amount of airflow through the tent - great on hot days!

A great feature of the airflow range is the ability to alter the layout of your tent. All the inner rooms can be connected or removed depending on your needs. This makes even our larger tents like the Jetstream very versatile.

All tents come with a full set of inner bedrooms right out of the box.
