3 Reviews of the Elody
By: Matthew john knight Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2001 Rating:
I inherited mine from my Uncle for absolutely nothing. There are me my wife and daughter in the tent and we found it luxurious and spacious. Was dropped in the deep end as we had no instructions at all. But have now put it up three times and camped once in it. Had trouble with the frame as I forgot there were two leg poles. Rolling up the sides was nice to get some air in. Withstood the heavy overnight showers and winds very well indeed. The tents downside is its weight but I've split my frame down and pack and tightly roll it all out and use some luggage straps to keep it as a roll.

Bought this Elody recently as longer stay tent, its overall size of approx 4.1m x 5.2m gives an enormous(for a tent) living area of 4m x3m, plenty of room for eating & cooking in when needed. The smaller of the bedroom pods can be removed if not required for more living area, or used as a dressing room, also the panel on the right can be rolled and tied up or can be used as a sun canopy, the front of the tent can also be rolled right back when weather permits, we found this to be a very versatile and airy tent, although as always is more suited to 4 people than the 6 claimed. If you are after a good quality large tent then this could be for you, some bargains around if your careful. This comes in two packages which take a bit of room and weigh about 50kgs,so takes up a bit of room in the car.

Lovely large living area with large windows letting in lots of light. Very good headroom and bedrooms have a really cosy feel when double air bed in them. We have two children under 4 and it is great as one can sleep in proper size travel cot that fits into larger bedroom with the double airbed too. There is a door on the front and an entrance on the side and the front can be fully opened too. We wanted a canvas tent because we go to France camping and it gets too hot in a poly tent but we couldn't afford a new one so this was a bargain off ebay. Very easy to put up and take down. Only downside is the weight and size when packed up. But a small compromise for the cost and space!
