5 Reviews of the Pyramide 6

Used the Pyramid 6 with the sun canopy for many happy years of family holidays.

Used throughout the year in all weathers and all locations in the UK. As long as I did my bit in maintaining the proofing the tent did everything I asked of it. Most interesting Fidden Farm in Mull where the winds were over 60 miles per-hour for three days. The Pyramid fared well with lots of modern nylon tents either destroyed or packed away for safety.

For all there is only one set of windows the tent is nice and airy not like modern nylon tent after a humid warm night.

Just right for a family of 5 and 2 dogs with the sun canopy giving a useful cooking and storage area.

Shame they stopped making this classic tent would highly recommend as a second hand buy if you get one that has been looked after

Not too sure what I can add to previous comments, other than to say this is the best family tent I've owned (I also have a Wynster Buzzard, Robens Tripple Dreamer, and Sun Camp Omega XL). It may not be the biggest, but it has plenty of space for the 5 of us, especially with the add on awning. It is a doddle to put up, cozy warm and waterproof, and incredibly strong and stable once its pitched. In October last year I was camping in Cambridgeshire (flat and very windy) when the wind changed direction completely overnight and was hitting the tent straight onto the front. I didn't even know until I got out of the tent, as it just sat there not moving like usual.

Only possible drawback are it is heavy and the original tent bag is very cheap and nasty (completely the opposite of the tent). I now carry the tent in 4 bags (outer, inner, poles, pegs) which makes it easier to move around. Its also expensive, but I've found that because I do a lot of camping nylon tents only really last about 4 years before the material starts going brittle, and I figure over the long term this will pay for itself several times over.

I just can't say enough about this tent. We've been through the quick erect plastic tents, through the chalet stylie tents, and now have this. Amazing. Goes up sooo easily, rock solid in all weathers and it has such a lovely feel about it, if you know what I mean? The sleeping area is an absolute luxury, which is always nice!

As an aside, we bought ours recently, and it is over 20 years old - it has a lot of life left in it and that, to me, is testament to its' manufacture. A great tent.

We bought our Pyramide 6 in 1994 (don't know where your release date came from). We have used it every year for our family of 5 and it is absolutely brilliant. It is so quick to erect, tough, stable and looks good as well. The optional porch is great for shade or shelter and there is lots of room inside. It is part of our family, we couldn't wish for a better tent and after 15 years it still looks fabulous.

We have owned one of these with the optional porch for 5 years, after trying many different tents over the last 30 years [including 2 other cabanons] it is most definitely the best, and most robust tent we have ever used.

It can be pitched in about 30 min including [the optional porch extension], and once up will take any weather that gets thrown at it, including a force 4 gale and torrential rain in Spain where it proved to be totally weatherproof and stable in the worst conditions that I ever want to camp in.

With the the porch there is plenty of room for cooking and eating under cover without going inside the tent, leaving plenty of room inside for a family of 6 should you need to retreat from the weather [rain or sun]
