We have used this for the last three years, but can honestly say that we've camped our last camp in it after the whole tent leaked through almost every seam and even into the bedroom. We've used it since my youngest was 6 weeks old and although the bedroom size is fabulous, it is cold and drafty and not very child friendly because of that. Very easy to put up and has survived thunderstorms, driving rain and strong winds, but it let us down this last time. It's definitely not Lake-District-Proof!

This is our first tent as we where newbies to camping.

This tent is worth the money ,it has ample space and plenty of headroom, like other reviews the only thing that lets it down is the door. It doesn't reach the ground and when it has rained if you don't pat the roof from from the inside before you open it, then its whooooshh! Double skinned which makes it retain heat and the main bedroom is plenty big to contain 2 double beds. Poles are either strong or weak pending on your luck, although our tent has taken a battering from the winds over the year we have had the same 2 poles snap, but thats the fun of camping. My advice. If you want a tent thats spacious and strong this is the tent for you. As long as you can smile when you get a little wet when you open the door after rain, but no tent is perfect.

I have just used this tent for first time and I must say it was very good in torrential rain which lasted 24 hrs not any leaks in bedrooms but only down side is door does not reach floor and when opening you end up having a shower and zip leaked and middle section flooded due to door which was a shame as I loved the size and ease to put tent up even in highish winds . Plenty of windows and ventilation over all great tent

Our first family tent. Plenty of room and ventilation only problem is that as others have stressed the rain slides down and when you open the door whooosh! We tried everything to prevent this and unfortunately Gelert don't do a canopy extension to prevent this, so we have bought an Oxygen 4 tent to go with this when the weather is wet.

We have used this tent on numerous occasions last year and just started our season.Take a extra ground sheet to put in front of front door as they don't meet the floor no matter how hard you try.

Decent tent for low budget.

As with all the other reviews I have read the main issue is the door letting the rain in. Other than that an ideal tent for up to 4 people. We did camp once with 5 adults, using the extra inner tent but found it a bit of a squeeze when the weather is not so good. We have just been away with 3 adults and found it OK, Not had any problems yet with poles etc,

Excellent for short breaks but I doubt I'll get the missus to spend more than 4 days in it.

This is our first family tent as we got it at a bargain price for the size. This is a great first family tent. Easy to pitch, good size rooms although we would of preferred larger living space. The only real problem we had with the tent was the design of the door any rain fall runs straight into the tent when you open the door onto the groundsheet! I would still recommend this as a very good family tent (there is us n the 3 kids) especially for first timers.

Big tent for the money! Great for a family of 4 as you can opt not to set up the smaller bedroom and have a great storage/living area if the weather's not good.

2 people can set this up in around 20 minutes, it's easier with 3 people though.

Despite the high waterproof rating, the tent will eventually give in to the elements - although did a good job against the welsh weather when it rained pretty much non-stop for an entire weekend!

The seams around the door seam to be the weak point for water ingress.

I've had a few poles snap in the wind when staying in the Brecons. Easily repairable, but I'd recommend carrying a few spares. It should also be noted that the poles are not covered under warranty!

First tent we owned as a family. Very easy to put up, but prone to bugs/insects getting trapped above the larger living area. Biggest problem by far is the inside of the tent getting wet when the door's open and it's raining. Rain tends to run off the top straight down into the tent, soaking the groundsheet by the door. Other than that, sewn in ground sheets are good, and rooms seem to stay warm. Door/rain issue is where it looses marks.

Myself and my girlfriend picked this tent up for a bargain price which was one of the reasons we opted for such a big tent. We have used it on two occasions, in October 2008 and March 2009 and it has been great. We opt not to put the second area up and because of this we store our equipment in this area and it provides more space to sit in during the evenings if it is windy. Also the main bedroom area is very large and plenty long enough (I am tall). Also the same can be said about the height in the main area of the tent. It is very easy to pitch even in the wind and also very easy to fold back into the bag with no problems whatsoever. We also had a lot of little spiders in the roof of the tent but to be honest when sleeping on a farm campsite I would not really expect anything less. We have not had a problem with water on the groundsheet despite pitching on a slope. Rating 9/10.

Went camping in this tent last week for a couple of nights wasn't too bad to put up. The groundsheet in the living area didn't fit very well and there were lots of draughts luckily I have a carpet and was able to put the carpet at the sides to stop this. My biggest dislike of the tent is the gaps around the bottom, as the bedrooms aren't sewn in it means there are draughts here as well and we were plagued with tiny spiders that had obviously crawled up from the ground and through. Apart from that the bedrooms were warm an ok tent, wish I'd known more about tents though before I'd bought it but you live and learn
