9 Reviews of the Nemesis 8

I have owned this tent for many years now (10+) so its about time to review it.

Material is nice and much thicker than any higear you will find today. Similar to all its Vango and other big name counterparts.

Pitching is very easy and doable on your own, being able to tension the poles on the base after you connect them up is really helpful. Once done you only need 2 pegs to hold the whole thing up. Top tip: Don't try and pull poles out when packing away, push them out.

The door is really wide, and has no '5th' pole a lot of others have, but this has held up okay. Downsides is a slight drizzle you will need to close the door as there is a small piece of material.

Guy lines are thick and good quality.

The wide door means most porches from other brands won't fit. We have tried a few but they are only wide enough to span the poles on narrower doors.

Packing back into the bag is easy as the bag is a reasonable size.

Could do with tabs in the middle so you can tie a line across/hang items off.

Just wish we could find footprints or porches for this tent.

An excellent tent - well ventilated, some useful storage pouches in the main living area and the sewn in groundsheet keeps out the bugs and water. Very easy to pitch - I would recommend buying a footprint to mark out the area and peg the corners of the tent first and it will be up no time. Got it at a bargain price of £120 last year so I guess it's discontinued now so it's more difficult to find carpets or accessories now. Plenty of room for my family of 5 (we remove the detachable room dividers to leave 2 large sleeping areas) and has withstood all of the wind and rain that May has thrown at us this year. Delighted with the tent and will try the Vector canopy later in the year.

I bought this tent after I found my self on my own with 3 kids. It's a doddle to erect on your own and only takes about 20 mins. There is lots of room and it has lasted wind and lots of rain. The living space is great for 4 but now we are 6 it's not really big enough. (Although I have had 12 kids happily playing in the area for a couple of rainy hours). Plenty of storage and all in all a lovely tent, which I am happily selling on to my friend with a family of four.

I did a lot of research before buying this tent and was very much looking forward to going camping in it.

Unfortunately, when I received the tent, the elastic had snapped in one of the sets of poles. Gelert said they couldn't supply a replacement set of poles (?!). The retailer agreed to swap my pole bag, but unfortunately, the next set of poles I received were similarly broken. Now hoping for a refund.

The tent itself seems good, but clearly the build quality with Gelert is simply not up to scratch.

Great tent for a family of 5, the kids have a sleeping pod each with one left for us. Plenty of space, and so easy to pitch.Took us 20 mins, and we are not experienced campers at all.

Had high winds and heavy rain - tent stood up well.

Going to buy the Vector canopy and a carpet to complete the outfit!

Very pleased with it - a mesh door would have been nice, but not a huge issue.

Just bought one of these , my expectations were hit and miss after owning a cabonon guadeloupe but I needn't have worried. It went up easily , had plenty of storage , large sleeping areas , well ventilated (no condensation) plenty of room to stand , move and even dance if the need arises. Good looking too had many comments on it, and with the added bonus of being able to open both doors which proved an excellent wind tunnel in 30 degrees - just giving a little bit of breeze but kept the dog cool. Nice bright guy lines and fluorescent leaders on the guys. It packed away easily too in its tidy bag. (I suggest purchasing the carpet for this tent too. Overall this tent has surpassed my expectations.Well done gelert . Another great product.

I paid £200 for this tent and thought it a bargain.

There are four of us using it so we find it spacious and well laid out.

I liked the fact that it was so easy to pitch but need two people.

The only trouble I had was trying to put it back in it's bag, but when you're having a good holiday with a tent like this, who wants to go home anyway?

Top notch. Ok it is our first tent and only 2 of us use it but I am so pleased with the layout and room. Hanging space very good. I found no problems with the wind and yes it is certainly waterproof. Not bad for £199! If I had a gripe, it would be that there is no mesh panel once the porch is erected.

Blooming good tent, but you have to ensure the guy lines are tight in wind of about 20 miles plus.

Lots of room, water proof too:)

There were four of us using the tent, 6 would have been comfortable easily. When the wind came it was noticeable but nit unmanageable at all. The tent has a great design and is water proof-it stood some very heavy down pours.

I have been camping for over a quarter century, for the price it is the best tent I have had (I paid £200).
