2 Reviews of the Quest 8

We have recently bought this tent the Gelert quest 8 (Thursday) and used it this weekend in winds of 20+ mph and rain non stop for about 16hrs, It withstood the wind and stayed absolutely bone dry inside the tent all weekend. Even with 4 children aged between 6 and 11 a dog (with x large crate) and 2 adults it was perfect for us all. Only things we wish were in stock when we purchased were the porch and carpet which we will be buying. This tent is spacious even the sleeping areas are substantial enough to fit 2 dbl sized airbeds in next to one another. The living area as I said was big enough for the x large dog crate, food bags, clothes bags and cooking utensils pans etc still with plenty of space to all sit around and move about. The hooks on both sleeping cabins were really handy as it meant we could hang lanterns up for the children when it got dark so they could still see, the doors on either side were a good idea too, having 2 access points was perfect. The height was perfect to as you could stand up and not worry about your head touching the top and water leaking in everywhere. Also the groundsheet attaching inside the tent to the sleeping pods and the outside tent and also being curved up was ideal to stop any water being able to leak in by the door All in all this tent was perfect for us and we had no seams leaking nor did the water leak in underneath the sides of the tent ether under the sleeping areas or the lounge groundsheet. We were both very nervous come Saturday when it started raining at 0200 in the morning and it didn't stop till 1800 on the Saturday evening wether we would be seeking refuge in the shower area, luckily we all enjoyed a nice warm and comfy night camping 😃🏕. And we cannot wait to take her out again and have many more camping trips in this wonderful tent. One very happy customer and family 10 out of 10

We bought this tent for £90 from sports direct as a trial tent to try out camping with two children for the first time. First let me say we had a great time and have now bought a slightly smaller (6 berth) but better (I think) tent. The tent was very easy to put up, you need two people due to the length of the tent but it is very light weight considering. It has luminous guy lines that are already attached and the fibreglass poles are colour coded. I've never put up this kind of tent before and it was easy. The groundsheet is separate and attaches to the middle communal part of the tent easily via hooks and rings. The two bedrooms have sewn in ground sheets and attach via hooks and rings. The bedrooms can be separated with curtains. Which was ok but my son could very easily detach this and go wake his sister up. The bedrooms are also white material so very bright when the sun is up. There are two side doors each turns into a sun canopy. The bedrooms are spacious with enough room for a double mattress and room for books, bags etc or a travel cot and single air bed and loads of storage. There are no side pockets in the bedrooms though. The communal area is big enough for two chairs and a few bags, probably an oven/bbq but there's no where to cook only outside (a problem if it's raining) I didn't like the fact that the groundsheet didn't cover the whole floor of the tent so there were gaps just out the rooms where there was grass so it needs an additional large groundsheet. It also does not have any flyscreens so either you let bugs in or you close all the doors and no air gets in. We did have a problem with condensation but that's to be excepted in a polyester tent on a very hot day and very cold clear night. So I'd say great for a weekend possibly without children but not a weeks family holiday type of tent.
