This Tent is Great for a family or couples and is cheap used or new the features of this tent are great the mesh doors are a great features and let in a great amount of sun light without any bugs or insects getting in the living area is really spacious and the sleeping pod is good for two but snug for 4 supringly I can fit 6 me personally I've got the pine green with the abbey grey I tend to use a carpet and not the sewn one the tent is very well ventilated and let's in enough air I use a aldi camping heater if it gets cold I reccomened you get one the domestic dome design is great but isn't the easiest to put up but once you've use the tent one or twice you'll get the hang of it the living area is nice and spacious and can fit a normal family or couple the sleeping area is nice and spacious and is well ventilated and is not to cold I use nice double padded sleeping bags from aldi I do reccomed you check out the aldi camping range the tent is made from a great fabric and isn't easy to rip the only thing is last year in leven just over the fourth road bridge it was very very windy and I put a pole in and it snap I got it replaced for just under Ł20 that's the only down side I have with this tent the living area can fit a great amount of chairs me personally I wouldn't reccomened the porch as I think it'snt needed for a spacious tent like this personally from me I like this tent so I give it a 10 I hope this review gives you help and all the reaseach you need to buy this tent

Can't fault this tent. Easy to put up and very spacious. We have camped in rain, thunder and lightning and 55 mile hour winds and stayed dry and cosy. Have camped in hot sunny weather as well and the side fly screens are great for keeping out midges and ventilation. All in all a great tent and look forward to more great trips next year.

We have recently bought the Gobi elite 4 from go outdoors and are very happy with our purchase the green colour did'nt put us off the tent has good instructions stitched into the bag and comes with colour coded poles initially if you peg down all four corners and then add the two larger criss cross poles first then the front and middle. One of us then went inside of the tent and then started to peg the poles in whilst the tent is slightly lifted to make it easier starting with the criss cross poles and then the middle and front with the 2nd person. It comes with a spacious bedroom area was big enough for 3 camp beds and the suitcase maybe a little snug for a fourth a spacious living area for 2 adults and one child with fully sewn in groundsheet. The 3 doors also help for preference for which one you use we decide depending on what's going to be easier! Only had slight dampness on the sewn in seam easily fixable though. Easy enough to take down and managed to fit it all back in the bag as well. Held up to rain,wind, thunder and lightning .Happy campers very happy with purchase and can't wait to go again!

We have recently bought the Gobi Elite 4 after getting fed up of 20 years of scrabbling round on hands and knees in smaller dome tents.

This is not the easiest tent to put up initilly as the main poles are very long and lot of pressure has to be put on the first pole to get a bend in it to get the tent up. We did have a problem to start with when the far pin kept popping out of the end of the first pole but we got over this problem by sticking the pin to the pole with a bit of gaffer tape. You really have to trust that the poles and fabric are strong enough to take the pressure! Once the first pole is in the rest of the tent goes up pretty easily.

This tent is a great size for 2 people. I think it may be a bit snug for 4 as there is only 1 sleeping compartment. There is plenty of room in the sleeping compartment for 2 roll mats and all our bags. The porch area is spacious with room for 2 chairs and a little table and our cooking equipment.

There are 3 doors which are great as it means you have a choice depending on which way the wind is blowing. It is also nice to have windows so you can nosey at what is going on.

We have just used this tent for a 2 week holiday around Ireland including staying on the wild Atlantic coast where we were subjected to gale force winds and torrential rain. We did make sure we pitched with the tents 'bum' into the wind and it seemed very sturdy and never moved at all. There were a lot of tents that actually got wrecked on the site. We have not had a single leak and overall would rate this as a great spacious tent for 2 people.

Apart from the initial difficulty with the first pole we had we have had no issues.

Highly recommended for the price as we got a great deal from Go Outdoors. We got the tent, the footprint and the groundsheet for less that Ł200 in the sale . The tent itself should've been Ł249.

I've got the 'Gobi 4', Which is the earlier version of this tent. From close inspection of the 'Elite' in 'Go Outdoors, the only difference I can find between the two is that the 'Elite' is a different colour and dearer.

As for my view of what I've bought, I'm quite happy with the tent. I've never believed the people numbers for tents and like others, I view this as a roomy two person. It's not difficult to put up but does really need two people, however, you only really need the second person to assist for a few minutes. It stands up to wind better than a 'tunnel' too! There is the issue of the front door being sloped, so water will run in if you open it in the rain. I mitigate this by using one of the side doors if it's wet. Overall, it's not the best tent in the world, but perfectly serviceable for me. I if I wanted 'the best' I would have to pay a lot more than the 'end-of-season' offer price of Ł125 that I paid. If I was going to buy another tent, I'd probably buy higher spec' one, but I don't regret buying this tent at all!

I bought this tent to replace an old cheap tent from Decathlon that I'd had for the previous 10 years. I wanted something that would withstand a bit more wind so went with the semi-gedesic design of the Gobi 4. And the tent is good when it works, there are a few minor issues - could really do with poles for the door (fortunately, I kept mine from my old tent), the zips can get stuck easy, it does haave a tendency to drop water inside from the door and it's quite tricky to put up (impossible for 1 person)

However, the biggest issue is the poor quality of the materials. I've been camping for 25 years and prior to this tent I'd only ever had one broken pole, and that was when someone fell into the tent at a festival. I've had 4 with this tent. It's only been out 4 times, and has broken twice. One time it was admittedly windy, but no more windy than my previous (simple tunnel) tent had coped with. We ended up sleeping in the car, as the pole broke and ripped all the fabric. Go Outdoors then tried to charge me for the repair! The 2nd time, there was a light breeze. I suspect the poles broke when I was putting it up, as I did try to did it alone, but it should be able to cope with being put up. Really disappointed with this product

Had this for a year now - used it often but now upgraded to a motorhome.

Best thing is being able to stand up inside it (I'm 5,11).

Having 3 doors is great in hot summer - makes it like a gazebo when they are all open.

Possible to put it up alone (30 mins is my record) but easier and quicker with 2 people.

Bedroom is plenty big enough for 2 adults and I guess 2 more could sleep in the living area.

First time using our Gobi 4 Elite this week, not the best instructions tells to connect the five poles but there are only four and when you pitch you find another set sewn in the tent telling you what to do before you pitch the tent ,should really have been in the bag ,apart from the instructions its a fantastic tent plenty of room and stood up well took little time to take down and all fitted in the bag easily

We love this tent apart from the bright Kermit the frog Green (blue was classy)and would guess it is made in the same factory as Outwell from the design and fittings. We went to Go Outdoors to get some water proofer for our trusty and well used weekend tent Atakama 5 which never leaked but as a precaution. Saw this on special offer as a bundle and her indoors prefers the sewn-in groundsheet so bought it. Used at Lemans in torrential rain and high winds no problems. Then in Loch Lomond again with proper wash you away rain. Again no leaks or problems. Put away wet was hard to get in bag but when home I put it up in the garden by myself to dry (about 10 mins in the hot sun. I am a man so don't follow manufacturers instructions. 1 man put up is easy. Thread and pin the two front poles first yellow and grey. Use the front guys to pull them upright then with care thread and pin the main dome poles using guys if windy (it was when I did it) then peg out properly. I leave the inner tent in situ and with proper folding and rolling it fits in the bag easily. I agree with other reviewers. Side doors need plastic windows like the front door and poles to make the door a canopy. Come on Gobi Elite Plus+

I have the previous version of this tent (Gobi 4). I have marked it down by 1 point due to a slight problem which may have been resolved with the Elite version - the front external front door is not long enough and can leak in water when raining unless you are careful. Other than that I am really pleased with it, it is very comfy for 2 adults with plenty of standing room and OK for 3 adults but 4 is a bit optimistic. The lounge area is quite spacious with 3 windows with curtains, there are 2 side doors and one large front door all with option of inner mesh doors closed to keep out flies etc. I recommend using the side doors when entering or leaving the tent when raining or overnight. I sometimes go camping by myself and can put the tent up no problems (just peg out the 4 corners first, then insert the 2 large crisscross poles ensuring the peg is inserted at one end of each pole, then unzip the front door and place your camping table or chair inside the tent under the X section to lift them up slightly and then gradually ease the poles into the other peg insert, the other 2 poles can then be easily inserted.) I've had this tent 1 year and had initial minor problem with rain leak along ground sheet seam on one side but after a quick paint of waterproofing around this lower seam I haven't had problem since.
