1 Reviews of the Lone Rider Mototent
By: Ratty Reason: I've used one Made in: 2014 Rating:
This is good sized tent and perfect for carrying on the back of a bike.
The tent bag has built in straps allowing you to fasten it easily to the bike without the need for additional bungee straps, etc.
The first thing we noticed was how tight the tent was in the bag. Once out of the bag we found the instructions sewn in to the bag, meaning they won't get lost or blown away.
Very simple to put up with just three poles, and all are colour coded making it even easier to locate and insert.
Three poles in and three pegs in and the tent just pulled up into position, a few more pegs and after pegging out the guys then tent was ready to use.
We did find the garage area was adequate for a bike, however there is not masses of room to manoeuvre around the bike once it is in there, and there is not really any space to cook, sit, chill etc.
The bedroom compartment is suitable for two people and their luggage, but is a squeeze. The bedroom pod does have access at the front and back allowing you to unzip it and create an airflow through the tent.
There was no lighting hanging point in the bedroom pod, however there was in the garage area.
Both the garage area and bedroom pod had pockets for storing keys, your mobile phone, etc.
We could not get the tent back in the bag however hard we tried, but this may become easier once it has been used more times and the bag has been stretched enough. This could be a major problem if you are on site and need to get it all packed away before strapping it to the bike and moving on for the night.
Overall a good tent, but this is the first dedicated Bike Tent we have used and normally the bike would remain outside anyway, so if that was the case, this is a perfect tent for two people wishing to tour on a bike.
