We'd been thinking about getting an airbeam tent for a while because our old tent had heavy metal poles which weighed more than the tent did. Old tent was also 6 berth and too big as our kids don't usually camp with us now. This tent is billed as a 4 berth but as anyone who goes camping knows, the max amount a tent is advertised as, is usually a bit of a squash.
We were advised to get the XL because there's a bit more head-room and it's great for 2 people. We've used it a few times now and it only takes about 20 mins to get the main bit pumped up and pegged out.
One of the reasons I liked this model is that the awning at the front is wide enough to sit in if it's raining and also take off shoes etc without getting soaked. Downside is that it's a bit lacking in pockets/storage space compared to other tents we've had, but apart from that, it's great.
When you've got a big tent, sometimes it puts you off going away for a weekend (all that faff for just 2 nights), but with an airbeam, it's so quick and easy that weekend camping has become much more straightforward.
