1 Reviews of the Campo Family 5P

What an excellent tent, especially when the pack size and weight are a consideration.

The inner is pitched first: peg out the four corners and then hoop the two long alloy poles diagonally over to locate on the usual pins on the four corners. Raising the inner using the suspended clips thus giving the tent its shape is child's play. The fly-sheet is a 'throw-over' affair which can be a bit of a challenge in windy conditions. If you clip the fly at one end first (making sure that you position the fly-sheet doors on the same ends as the inner tent doors) it's not too difficult at all and this prevents the tent taking off!. A third alloy pole is threaded through a horizontal sleeve on the top of the fly-sheet and clipped into place over each door giving a 'peak' effect to each vestibule. Only two guy-ropes (one on each side), plus one further peg at each end to pull the vestibules taught and you're finished, my best effort was about 10 minutes from start to finish.

You have full standing height inside and an entrance at each end, both with a mesh fly-screen to the inner tent. For a motorcycle camper it's absolutely ideal, light in weight and packs down small. Mine took me all over Europe and stood up to some pretty wild weather in the high Alps with no sign of a leak any time.

This tent is marketed as a 5-berth, but that's a joke! For one person, or maybe a couple, yes. For five - dream on!
