This is a tent that I have to admit isn't very good and you get what you pay for. There is no shelter from the sun, has a tendency to move a fair bit, and although can be put up by one person it took well over an hour.

The tent also doesn't ventilate very well and I woke up in the morning to find a huge amount of condensation within the living area, and hat was just from me on my own, so I can't think what it would be like with more than one.

On the plus side it is cheap and relatively light weight, but as I said you get what you pay for.

I've just had a week's fishing holiday in a new Lichfield River 4 (same as Creek 4 without side door) - very disappointing! Although it had more headroom than my dome tent, this is only in the living area. The sleeping area is kneeling or bent double only and you stoop to enter or leave the tent. The tent offers no UV protection, you can feel the sun shining from inside the tent and when closed up (when you are out during the day) it is a real heat trap. Great for drying clothes but most uncomfortable to try to sleep after night fishing. It is fully daylight inside the tent by 6 am in summer!

Although the tent remained fully waterproof (why not it's brand new), it is necessary to close the door and cover the fly screens when it rains, so very closed-in with no ventilation. The tent flaps constantly in even light wind then flexes and shakes wildly in stronger gusts. Other tents in the same field remained calm!

So does not perform well with sun, wind or rain. In a sheltered valley, pitched under the shade and shelter of a large tree - perfect.

I have used this tent for a few years now as I go to a few car shows, an like the odd night away in Wales.

I was fed up crawling into smaller tents so when I saw this I got one. Easy to pitch on my own, tall living area means you can stand up inside and the sleeping area is the low part where you lye down, simple!

Its been through some rough weather and never let me down. My only grip is if there is dew or rain on the door and you open it, it comes inside.

I have just got a bigger tent, but will keep this for one nighters.

All in all a great tent.

We bought this as our first tent due to it being good value for money in comparison to others. However, after only 8 days of camping, one pole split with no apparent reason and I'm returning it for a refund.

I will add though that the tent withstood torrential rain over those 8 days and not a drop came in the tent.

If not for my problem with the pole, I'd happily recommend this tent for couples, seems a bit small for family use even though its a 4 berth.

If pitching this tent on a flat pitch its great.I put it up by myself in 45mins. Though the instructions are rubbish, its very easy to put up and the ground sheet attaches all round the porch area with the outsides raised so no water will run in when the heavens open(as long as your on a flat pitch).

The size of the porch is ideal for storage and for two of you to comfortably relax in when raining, though would imagine it to be a little cramped with three people.

Unfortunately things are not so good when you have to pitch on an uneven incline.This time it took two of us over an hour and a half and many repositionings and peggings and unpeggings and still we found it impossible to get the tent positioned well enough for the bedroom to attach without strain even with the tension straps undone. Consequently two of the bedroom attachments ripped leaving me two holes on the side of the bedroom.

The porch area also ended up getting wet in the rain as the raised part of the ground sheet kept dropping out past the outer tent underneath the window of the porch which caught all the rain running down the side if the tent.

But even after these failings, I would still use this tent again if there were only two of us or even just myself travelling but would be checking the pitch quality before setting off.

I bought the Creek for a week's camping with a claustrophobic partner who can't stand small dome tents. It's practical and useful and if I'd worked out how to use the groundsheet right the first time, it would have stood up well to a sudden downpour and minor flash flood as well! Pitching is slightly fiddly with one person, easier with two, but generally straightforward and the tent is solid and stable once up.

The full height living area is perfect for bad weather as you don't need a separate utility tent to cook in. The window cover being on the outside is a downside since you have to go outside to close it if it starts to rain, but the ventilation mesh behind the sleeping area has a permanent cover which pegs out taut with guy ropes and lets the tent breathe even in wet weather.

The completely closable separate skin to the sleeping area is great, you can close it up to keep bugs and crawlies out of your sleeping space in the day and open it for ventilation on warm mornings. The Creek would be pretty cosy for 4 and with airbeds it will definitely only sleep 3; the bedroom area is pretty much full once you've crammed a double and a single airbed in!

The one big downside is the unclosable ventilation at the back means this tent can be pretty cold at night - we had a week of stunning clear skies which meant freezing nights, and we needed our blankets and thicker sleeping bags.

Bottom line: A useful tent for small groups or generous space for a couple. Not for cold weather use.

Having owned a number of tents over the last 45 years, the last one being a Khyam Freelander which was totally useless, I sold it on eBay and lost Ł100!. We knew exactly what we wanted in a replacement tent, the Creek 4 fitted the bill perfectly. I've no real issues with this tent at all, it stood up well to some foul weather recently too. We pitched it in a strong wind, no problem, we had one night of torrential rain, again, no problem. It seems to me it was designed by someone who knows about tents and camping, not like that awful Khyam we had. I guess if I was going to fault this tent I would comment on three things 1) The elastic shock cord used to connect the poles is rather puny and one has to be careful the poles don't part whilst threading them through the pockets, I intend to replace the cord with more substantial stuff, when I get a 'roundtewit'. 2) Threading the second main pole through the dome crossing is a fiddle but easier if one has assistance. 3) As per usual, this tent is rated as 4 person, I'd say it would be crowded, it's really a fairly comfortable 3 person tent.

We used this tent on a two week trip to Scotland last August. We had at least some rain just about every day with quite a few heavy storms, the tent held up well with no leaks.

During the day we completely unzipped the door of the inner tent and tucked it into its pocket to create one big open plan room, this provided ample space for the two of us to spend the odd day relaxing out of the rain.

I liked the bucket groundsheet in the porch, it meant that the space was dry and usable as a living area without being completely disconnecting you from the outside.

The outdoor cover for the window was a bit of a pain, especially as the top half of the window is a ventilation mesh so you have to dash out and half close it if there's a shower. This also means that in bad weather you've only got half a window to look out of, we found the space cozy but I could imagine it feeling claustrophobic if you had a family trapped in their by the elements.

Overall I'm very happy with the tent and look forward to using it again this summer.

We bought this tent as an alternative to our rather large and heavy frame tent.

The tent is well made and stood up well to a days continuous rain and wind in Minehead recently.

Easy enough to pitch and the groundsheets are good and fit well with the tent.

It will sleep four at a push, it was ideal for the two of us and the dog but during the wetter weather it has to be said the living area was a bit cramped. I'm not sure it is suitable for a family larger than three.

No complaints from us though, good value and quality for the price and as stated previously kept us dry in some very bad weather.

After looking around for a new tent for a while, I decided on the Creek 4. Its a pretty solid tent with most of the features I wanted. The good points of it are for the price its decent. The living area is good (more for 3 people than 4 unless its a couple with 2 kids). The height of 180cm is a good feature for the tall person. It pitches pretty fast and fits well back into the pack (Tip - Don't roll the poles inside the tent when packing up. They fit nicely down the side). Packing up was especially easy. I saw others on same site taking a while with their 4 man tents whereas this one went away with no fuss.

The only issues I have had with it are

* A sewn in groundsheet would have been useful, but the one provided fitted well.

* No instructions came with the tent (I'm being picky I know).

* The tent front door didn't fit all the way to the bottom, but that could have been me pegging down too much elsewhere.

* Another window would be nice. It only has one, but I can see it being bland when the weather is not so great.

*I haven't tested it in more extreme weather conditions.

Be aware of the manufacturers description as it's out of date. The tent only has one window, as the other was replaced with a door (compare the manufacturer images at the top of the page). The window covers are NOT internal, they are external too.
