2 Reviews of the Opera 2400

Used the tent for a windy weekend in wales.

It was solid as a rock, when other tents were blowing down.

Inside is roomy, plenty of space for a double bed, with room at the sides for bags etc.

The porch area outside easily fits table and 2 chairs, underneath it, nice to shelter under.

I did worry the tent would be small, but actually a good size. Plenty of room for 2 people, could fit more if needed.

Found the tent nice and bright inside, with the big windows.

The door has built in zipped mosquito net, which was good, to stop any flys going in, but still let the fresh air into the tent.

Comes in separate bags, for poles, canvas, porch. Easy to carry and pack in to the car.

I owned a 280 POD but sold that on due to not being able to lift it up.

Tried many tents since then but nothing compares to a Karsten.

Went back to Camping Travel Store and James suggested the Opera 2400 Tunnel tent.

Its much lighter but the same outstanding quality with so much room!

For just the wife and myself its perfect, although it could comfortably sleep more.

I collected it from the shop as these Tunnel tents are kept in stock.

Got home and pitched the tent in my back garden, not very well as it fills my garden!

I just wanted to get the guy lines attached and the front wall zipped in place ready for when it gets its first outing.

So far very impressed, lets be right its a Karsten nothing else really needs saying.

Will update with photos once I've used it in anger.

Manufacturer's Description

The Karsten Opera 2400 is the latest model of tunnel tent from the Dutch manufacturer and it doesn’t disappoint.

Made from a 280g/m2 100% Tencate Cotton Canvas, this tent comes in at a total weight of 30kg which is separated into three bags for easy handling and packing. The sewn in bisynol heavy-duty groundsheet helps this tent pitch as one, and with the four easy assemble poles that simply zip into outer sleeves, this tent is rock solid and pitched within 15 minutes.

The Opera is a luxurious ‘couples’ tent, and will comfortably sleep three. The full height living area throughout and large windows makes this tent feel light, airy and very spacious. There is a half moon vent to the rear of tent allowing for a great air movement. This coupled with the superior cotton canvas material virtually eliminates condensation and feels so cosy.

The single entrance door has a dual zip, the first we have seen from Karsten, allowing the canvas door to be zipped completely shut or if rolled-up allowing an integral mosquito net (screen door) to be zipped down, ensuring bugs are kept out.

The doorway also benefits from a height adjustable modification to the groundsheet. In its up position the bathtub is retained, but releasing the clips allows this section to ‘lay-flat’ allowing easier access for prams and wheelchairs.

The curvaceous detachable awning just refines this tunnel tent as well as providing great shade and shelter from the elements.

There are nice touches throughout this tent, from the cable tidies to the dual electrical inlets. Dividers separate the sleeping area, and can be tied back for a bedouin effect during the day.
