4 Reviews of the Biscaya 500

Cabanon Biscaya 500 Cuisine is a superb tent. It goes up quickly (around 25 minutes with 2 people on it), looks superb and performs brilliantly. We were in Germany this summer (2014) and it rained heavily. A lot. We had no leaks at all and with the vast interior space of the tent it was a superb home for a family of five. The additional 'cuisine' section creates lots more interior space as it stands upright rather than having the curvature of a tunnel tent, which can sometimes serve to compromise space when a kitchen set-up is erected. The tent is big and it offers ample standing room (I am 6'2' and don't have to stoop or bend down). The drawback to this is in the set-up and take down as you need someone tall to zip in the central poles. It is a tent well served by plentiful windows (all of then can be rolled back and have mesh mosquito guards on them) which creates lots of light and welcome airflow in very hot conditions. It is an 'all season polyester' outer fly sheet which is tough, durable, feels like canvas but isn't as heavy. I would recommend adding the sun canopy as it is brilliant in rainy and sunny conditions and adds significantly to the visual appeal of the tent. On site the tent drew many admiring glances and comments. I would recommend a Cabanon Biscaya 500 without reservation: it is an excellent tent that looks and feels like a very high quality product.

I agree with everything Sheriff has said! We love our tent. The only down side is its weight, you may need a trailer or two cars which is what we do. No problems in some of the worst weathers, hurricane proof, downpour proof and if you pitch it right and have the sun porch you can still sit outside in the pouring rain and stay dry (which we love to do) and watch all the other tents flapping in the wind. I love the sewn in floor, no drafts. We thankfully got this tent early on in our camping career, we saw it as an investment for our family forever. We get loads of questions about it when we are on holiday and even given a phone number in case we want to sell it. Highly recommend it if you can get your hands on one. :)

Fantastic tent mine is the older model without the side cooking area. I can only say I have had 8 years of trouble free camping, no leaks no faults just a great tent that I believe is hard to beat when travelling and seeing what is about. It has been in heavy rain in England and France put away soaked and still continues to be a great set up. Yes it is expensive but this is not a leisure tent but a proper camping tent that is bomb proof and will last generations, best investment you will make if bought early to save wasted money on various tents until finding the BISCAYA, remember this is not a rain jacket on poles but a proper job.

Great tent loads of space really secure in bad weather. Had leakage problems at first but Cabanon agent did sort them out. Expensive tent but well made. Comes in 3 bags.Simply peg out ground sheet, zip on tent and stand 3 poles up. We can erect it in about 45 minutes now. We have Large estate car but needed a trailer to put everything in. Living area huge handy for those wet days. Sun canopy good too and would recommend
