I purchased this tent in 1990 it has been used for our annual holidays ever since. Also our children use it regularly for their holidays with their children. Before retiring the tent was put up and taken down several times whilst touring Europe during the school summer holidays. Also if any of our extended family have an event, the tent is put up as an extra room or as a marquee. The only maintenance has been to replace the tent peg rubber bands and the tent pole springs. I would not be allowed to part with this tent. It has been brilliant.

These are often the tents you get when you book with the pre-pitched holiday firms, albeit with slight modifications such as colour ways or extra reinforcements. They remain pitched all season and usually serve for three or four years in this manner before replacement. The only downside that I can see is the sheer bulkiness and weight - not a problem if you have a suitable trailer.
Have just bought 4 new ones in 2015 for pre-pitched rental for a new private campsite in Hampshire.

We bought this tent from a friend a few months ago, and were delighted to find that it was almost new when we pitched it for the first time, especially as we only paid £100 for it.
This is an ideal tent for us as we have five adult/teenage children, and we can accommodate friends of theirs too, which is great fun. We will use this tent for longer stays of a week or more. We transport it in our trailer, the tent is very heavy and it comes in four large bulky bags.
Despite having had many tents over the past 20 years camping, I had never pitched a frame tent before, and was very happy and relieved to find that it was really easy, all the poles slot together, many are already sprung and just open out and slot in, then it is just a matter of unfolding the canvas over the frame with the frame 'on its knees', and then lifting it up to its full height, in fact it took no longer than our Vango Colorado to pitch! Two people could pitch this between them, but it does help when raising the frame to have three or four people lifting all on one side for ease.
The only tips really to be aware of is to take a folding stool to stand on to clip in the inner tents unless you are very tall, also, if possible and weather permitting, it is easier to clip in the roof lining before the canvas goes on, as it is much easier than doing it at full height.
This tent is huge, and very versatile, the four (one is a large one that divides with a curtain) sleeping compartments make it ideal for a large family or for extended family and friends to come along, unlike another reviewer, we found all the bedrooms to be large enough for two singles or a double air bed, and very good quality, with a very heavy duty floor.
We loved the corridor between the inners with its hanging rail, and in fact I bought a clip on rail with hooks for this, great for hanging up coats, towels etc to air. It was also nice to have the curtained off area from the rest of the tent, and of course all the bedroom compartments are full height, so a spacious feel and practical for getting dressed etc.
We put a cheap tarp underneath the inners and across the corridor to provide protection for the underneath of the inners, and as a floor for the corridor, and in the main area of the tent we used breathable groundsheet with a tent carpet over the top just on the living area side of it, away from the kitchen area. Very comfortable and cosy.
The living area is huge, and versatile with two doors at either end, we had plenty of space for our cooking stand, larder cupboard and small table for drinks, our coolbox and some boxes of food and general supplies on one side of the room, and still plenty of room for a double sized folding table and camping chairs to seat 8 people in comfort.
In fact, you could if you wished sleep even more people in the living area on camp beds, which could be used as seating during the daytime.
It was great to be able to cook inside the tent with the kitchen window rolled up, and we suspended two more hook racks from the tent poles above either side of the cooker, in order to be able to hang mugs and utensils, a great asset not to have to hunt around when cooking.
The canvas of these tents really is top quality, the doors have heavy duty zips, and the lack of condensation inside was lovely in comparison to synthetic tents, the tent feels cosy if it is chilly, with the roof linings in as well, and this also keeps things a little cooler in hot weather. The side wall can roll up in hot weather as well which is an added bonus.
In windy weather the tent feels very stable, if it was very windy or stormy you could throw a couple of long ratchet straps over the poles inside, and tie it down that way as an addition to the strong guy ropes and pegging points. It was nice sitting inside when it was raining, we feel very secure and of course the masses of space in the tent mean that wet days can be enjoyed in comfort rather than feeling cooped up.
All in all, we are delighted with this tent, and feel confident that it will serve us well for a very long time, the high quality materials and construction mean that if it is looked after it will last our family for many years.

Just bought a Cabanon Espace a few weeks ago, I sold my trigano 4 birth canvas frame tent as myself, the wife, 2 kids, and a dog were a tight squeeze. (especially in the rain). Were off to Skegness in a week for a weeks holiday. Already roughly put it up and looks/feels really sturdy. Massive thing. Its bigger in the flesh than any picture I looked at before I brought it. Took about 50 mins to put up (excluding roof lining and curtains) and about 30 mins to pack away. I will put a few pics on when I get back and comment further when I know a bit more.

Our Espace is a great tent, we have a large family so the space is very practical. The Espace label says 8 birth, but we found that one of the bedrooms is actually only a single. Therefore making it only a 7 birth. On the whole though a fantastic family tent. We transport ours in our family minibus and put the other non-water damageables in the trailer. We can be (all tent put up) in under an hour and with the kettle on. Family teamwork.

This is the perfect tent for a large family. Having 7 children camping is the obvious choice of holidaying!
When correctly up it doesn't leak or budge during storms!It takes an hour or so to put up but then it stays there till you want it to come down.
The draw backs are the weight,(he has to lift bags)the height when putting bedrooms up(take something to stand on, or let him do it).
When putting up we do the frame 1st, keep legs bent in half, then put the canvas over. Everyone then dives under and grabs a leg to lift.On the count of 3, heave in the air whist the youngest runs round straightening the legs.Well it works for us!
We have had it since new and some of the rubbers have perished so will need to be renewed with elastic.
We also colour coded the poles with tape.
The living area is huge and the corridor in the middle of the bedrooms makes for useful storage for suitcases.

We love our Cabanon Espace, being a family of 5 this tent gives us excellent space even when weather is terrible and everyone is forced to huddle in the tent. The kitchen area is divided by a curtain so can be section off when not cooking to give the tent a cosy feel.What sold this tent to me was the bedroom layout with the passage down to them as opposed to front facing straight off the living area, we have found this area fab as a changing room, you can zip it off, we have a no shoes rule in this area. All in all you can go wrong if you buy this tent, it does take up a lot of room so a trailer would be needed. The only negative I would say was the weight of the canvas, trying to lift on tent frame is hard work with 2 adults but is to be expected with a canvas and is a the only draw back.

We bought this tent after we had used the Aruba with all the add-ons, and found the Espace even easier and quicker to pitch because of it's rectangular shape (no kitchen push out, but the designated kitchen area is great, with ventilated window).
It's not a solo-pitch tent, it has to be said, but with a couple (or more) on it, we can pitch this tent in half an hour, complete. We have colour-coded our poles (and dividied them into three separate bags; rear, front and intermediates) and have perfected the art of folding the canvas so that it goes onto the frame in a flash.
This is a very versatile tent, with great living space for a larger family. We love the fact that the bedroom area is shielded with a curtain / doorway and that means we have a changing area, also can leave the bedroom inners open without being on view from the living area of the tent.
You can open up the front and side of the tent (panels unzip, and toggle up) to create a covered sitting / dining area in hot weather (this is a great tent for the south of France, when temps soar!). The wardrobe bars are great too; quick to fix and sturdy enough to take a considerable amount of clobber!
The kitchen area is screened off with a curtain (but not on earlier models of the Espace), which keeps things tidy (and keeps stuff out of sight when the front of the tent is open). We made another dividing curtain for this area, just fixing it up with inner tent clips and a length of elastic, so we can position a porta potti near the second doorway and this works brilliantly).
The roof liner takes a little time to affix but keeps the tent so much cooler in hot weather, and the reverse works too; it is warmer in cool weather.
We have the optional sun canopy, which fits not to the front of the tent but to the right hand side. It is quick and easy to fix and provides a really useful shaded area.
The downside, as with all large frame tents, is weight and bulk. We keep our inners and curtains separate from our canvas, hence have quite a few bags when you add them to our 3 pole bags, so a trailer is necessary. That said, this is luxury camping

A 'Smoking' tent, we started with a small 2 man Lichfield ridge, then a 5 berth naff Sunncamp, and have owned the espace for 7yrs. Perfect for mixed family holidays of over a weeks duration, loads of space indoors for the kids if it doesn't stop raining, easily fits in 2 bags, towed in a 3 X 5ft trailer by a Honda Jazz. Cotton inner ceiling lining, curtains and bedroom partition give a warm homely feel, sadly missing from these modern synthetic dome type rigs. Did a lot of touring caravanning as a kid with siblings and the parents, but this rig is definitely the best camping experience 'A touch of class'.

Absolutely stonking tent, loads of space for a family of 4 and we use one of the small pods as a loo/washroom. An hour to pitch from unloading to clipping in the wardrobe rail, durable, warm at night and the vinyl roof saves a fortune in Fabsil! Some ebay bargains around, watch out for the odd dodgy pole connector and the roof lining never quite clips in properly, but still works.
