4 Reviews of the Country Road

We needed more space, as you do, as we have a Fleurette Tamaris DL, the Outwell Country Road proved to be just perfect for our needs, found it very easy to erect. No leaks and it fits the top length of the awning channel perfectly. We have not got the carpet yet, but with the footprint and the zip in ground sheet, the floor still felt quite warm. We are very pleased.

I own the European version of this awning, the only difference is that my version also has a side door opening. I love this awning, I can pitch it solo easily and it is very good quality, I have experienced a lot of rain and not had any leaks. I would recommend it with out hesitation. I like the fact that the front can zip off and have used it in the garden for bbqs in case of rain, almost like a gazebo. The clear windows let in lots of light.

We needed extra sleeping space - our converted Toyota not really big enough to sleep two comfortably. Started off with 'bivvy' type tent which solved the sleeping problem, but felt we needed more living space if it was raining. Mostly used for weekends so wanted something quick and easy to put up/take down. Needed to attach to the campervan (three options available will report back later on best). Needed zip-in ground sheet for warmth when sleeping on floor.
Decided against internal extra room as we don't need the privacy between us and it did take up half the space. The Tunnel between campervan and awning will serve us well as a private area for portaloo save buying another item! Can store items not needed in the living space. It is waterproof, though not ground sheet in this area. I believe the design team are working on this as a next point. We bought the carpet, which we though was a bit OTT, but now really glad as it makes it warmer particularly as being used for sleeping in too. Easy to put up. Video on website was extremely useful. Poles easily put together and seem pretty strong so far. Vents for fresh air welcome in the heat. Privacy curtains. Can open the front completely, or half close very versatile. Stood alone very well in our back garden! Managed to buy from ebay much cheaper.
ell designed, packs away well with separate bags for canvas, poles, carpet and footprint ground sheet. Good when space is premium and prevents tearing of bag forcing things back in, as we have done previously with our tent. Not tested it in rain yet, but seems very sturdy well constructed and spacious. Only gripe I have (female opinion!) not aesthetically as I would have liked but practicality of zipped in ground sheet won me over. One other point, not an eco-friendly ground sheet either. Most campsites will allow this for two days only on grass. Also understand designers have this in progress too. Watch this space!

I was concerned that the awning would be too big as I have a Rapido Pop Up Caravan. I tried it out this May Bank Holiday and was very pleased. Yep, there is a bit of excess fabric on the baffles between the van and the living area but this turned out to be good for storage of things you wanted to keep dry but not in the living area. With a sewn in ground sheet, the living area was very roomy and virtually draft free and warm. We also purchased the inner tent and carpet.Good ventilation, big windows and plenty of headroom. Took less than 30 minutes to get set up which for a first time effort was good and the wife and I were still talking to each other at the end of it! Typical May Bank Holiday saw sun, rain and hail but no leaks. Very pleased.
