5 Reviews of the Evolution 400DL

We have used this tent for three years now and apart from the first year when it bucketed down and we got wet, it has been a good tent. Goes up easily with the two of us and is roomy enough for us and the malamute. Once it is up it is remarkably stable as long as it is pegged out properly. Bedroom is nice and roomy. Good value and yeah, happy with it.

Nice tent, shame about the slope at the bottom end though cuts up a lot of room. Shame about the doors that get wet so we had to purchase a side canopy. Tent looks amazing though. Bit like a fighter jet when canopy is on! But if you are serious campers and go in rain, hale or shine then this tent is not for you. Like any tent with just fibreglass poles, it can cause problems. Never broke but traded in for an Outwell steel framed tent!

We bought our Evolution 400 DL last year and were quite pleased with it, apart from a major design fault that means water comes in the door when you open it after it has rained.
We are completely unimpressed by the canopy that goes with it, so are now looking for a large-ish canopy or extension to keep our tables, chairs, cooking equipment under when the weather is bad.

It's us again! Having used this tent now for a whole season we feel it's not as good as we first thought. The main reason for this is that the added length comes at the cost of a considerable loss of stability. The front to back poles are just too flimsy for the length especially in any sort of windy conditions. We will be changing for something else for next year.

We bought this to upgrade from the Evolution 400 which itself is a super tent as we now have a large German Shepherd Dog and need extra space. This tent is brilliant.Just as easy to erect as the smaller version but the extra length gives a much roomier, airier feel. This is our fourth tent and we think we have found the perfect one. If there is something better on the market we have yet to see it!
