This is essentially an awning to attach to a motor caravan. We attached it to our ordinary van throwing the guy ropes over the van. We pitched a small and a larger pop-up tent inside at night and the porch between the awning and the van formed a perfect spot for the porta potti. During the day it opens on 3 sides to form a very solid gazebo which can be free standing. It went up very easily and pretty quickly - probably only 10-15 minutes and that was the 1st time. Although there is no ground sheet it is ideal for extra shelter either from the sun or rain and for privacy. Worked really well for our first camping trip with our grandchildren aged 5 and 9.
