An excellent budget price site.
We stayed for ten days and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The site is divided into two main sections. An upper section with many 'chalet' type units, plus some emplacements. And the lower section, which directly borders the lake.
Some parts of the site are a little 'laissez-faire'. Maintenance clutter. But a lot (especially the lakeside area) is very well kept.
We had a pitch on the lake front. Private, and with a fantastic view of the lake, with direct access for launching boats or for swimming. And the 'round the lake (7 kms) bike/walkig path. Recently completed and excellent with sections on planked/tired sections, wooded sections and standard vote verse sections.
Two sanitaire blocks. English and turkish loos. Paper supplied, though sometimes run out in some cubicles. The upper unit has very hot water. The lower, sometimes does not. So test!
Most wash basins have soap dispensers (quite unusual for this level of camp site).
There is a bar/restaurant. The owner prides himself on his cheffing ability, and we were not disappointed. Often speciality dishes are provided. I can recommend his tripe!
There are evening attractions. eg Folk dancing demos and other music. All very charming and un-touristy. There is a large functions hall attached to the bar/restaurant.
The site is used mainly by french campers. We were the only GB unit there when we stayed. Two dutch and one spanish.
The family who run the site a charming and go out of their way to ensure that you have as good a time as possible. They are ultra-affable.
There are some local areas/sites worth visiting, but the main attraction is the lake and all it offers. 'sea-plane' flights, water-skiing, sailing, boating and biking.
We visited Roquefort and its cheese cellars. Interesting though not unbelievably so.
The Tower of Peylerou is worth a visit, on the opposite side of the lake.
We had a wonderfully relaxing time here and would recommend it. Especially if kayaking/ boating and biking is your game.
