Well kept friendly site with a very helpful warden - Ros.

The pitches are very reasonably priced and electricity is metered so you only pay for what you use.

The toilet and shower block was very clean. The showers are 20p for 2 minutes but if you follow the instructions it is easy to operate them.

There are pretty walks along the river that are accessed directly from the site.

We will definitely be back for a longer visit

Phippins Farm Caravan Park offers a peaceful and scenic getaway for adults-only campers in Somerset. Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons to help you decide if it's the right fit for you:

Pros:

Tranquility: Many reviewers rave about the quiet and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle.

Location: The park is situated near the Somerset Levels and close to Burnham-on-Sea, offering easy access to beautiful countryside and seaside attractions.

Cleanliness: Several guests commend the well-maintained pitches and clean shower/toilet facilities (when open).

Friendly Staff: Positive reviews highlight the helpful and welcoming wardens who go the extra mile for guests.

Good Value: The pricing seems reasonable, especially considering the peaceful location. The pay-as-you-go electricity system is also appreciated by some.

Cons:

Limited Facilities: Some reviewers found the lack of a washing-up area and paid showers inconvenient. There's also no mention of Wi-Fi availability.

Condition: While some reviews mention a well-kept site, others describe it as scruffy with weeds and outdated facilities.

Overall:

Phippins Farm Caravan Park caters to those seeking a tranquil escape in a scenic location. If you prioritize peace and quiet and are comfortable with basic amenities, this park could be a good option. However, if you require a wider range of facilities or a more polished campsite, you might want to consider elsewhere.

Recommendation:

It's recommended to check the date of the reviews you're looking at, as the condition of the park seems to be a point of contention. If you decide to stay, be sure to pack light as there's no washing-up area, and bring extra change for showers (if operational).

A convenient stopover for us returning to Cornwall, not too far from the M5, but far enough not to be a noise problem.

A well kept quiet and peaceful site, with many local (flat) walks.

The cost per night was fair

There is a small charge for electricity used, IMO all campsites should charge this way, paying only for what one uses.

Owner Tim and warden Ros were very helpful. Ros is like a walking tourist information office offering loads of advice on places to visits, eat & drink and will even provide good walking routes.

Campsite is really quiet which was perfect, it has a high proportion of seasonal pitches, but great for a few nights away.

Strange concept of 20p showers but found 40p was more than enough time for good shower.

Nice site with spacious gravel pitches.

Toilet block was heated which is nice.

Showers are via coin slots but 40p is enough for a good hot shower.

Electric hook up is metered (cost us about £4 per day) so the cost of that needs to be added in to the site fee.

The countryside around is very flat and we hope to return to this site with our tandem when the weather is better to do some cycling.

Rich's cider is worth a visit with a really nice restaurant.

This site is a NO children site but is perfect for either touring or seasonal pitches. Well spaced out, completely flat, all hard standing with grass between pitches, some small bushes or trees, some hedges on some rows, electric hook up and several water points, a toilet block with showers and a chemical disposal point plus a cottage to rent as an alternative.

Its peaceful set in open country and very well maintained and about a mile and a half away from the M5 which allows easy access to the whole of Somerset and its attractions.

I fully recommend this site as its also close to a caravan dealer should you require any accessories or even arranging a service.

Shopping stores and Chinese and Indian takeaways are also close by including an excellent chipshop. Just PERFECT in every way.

 What a lovely gem!

Ros was superb. Welcoming, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

A quiet haven for like minded people. We will definitely return.

Thank you so much. Kind regards John and dixi.

What a lovely friendly place. Tim, the owner, took my booking via phone, a friendly chap and happy to answer my questions.

Received an email with all relevant information and also had a text from Ros, the warden prior to arriving.

Toilet and shower block clean, it’s 20p for 2 minutes in the shower which didn’t bother us however the pay box is located on the end of the cubicle outside of the shower so could be fun and games if you run out of time halfway through showering! Lol

Elsan point, recycling and water points on site. No washing up facilities.

Pitches are gravel stone.

A lot of seasonal/long term guests here, some have a delightful display of twinkly lights when it goes dark, but they are friendly and it is a quiet site.

Ros is lovely, happy to lend a hand if needed and knowledgeable of the local area.

It would be nice to have a bench or 2 along the river to sit and enjoy the tranquillity. Ideal place for fishing and you can launch SUPs/ canoes etc but bank is high to get on and off as the river is so low at the moment.

Both local pubs have closed down now but there is a beer shed and Rich’s cider farm within walking distance.

£21 per night plus electricity on a meter.

We have already booked again to go back later this week.

Hard to believe the reviews of 10 stars on here.

A very substandard budget site, showers are extra on top, as are the electric hook ups.

Did not expect to pay 38p a unit for the electric!

You have to pay your monies for a shower outside of the cubicle and then rush back in to shower.

In 25 years of touring I have never come across this set up.

Everything around the site was spacious, but trying to find your pitch was difficult as none of the markings were available.

Definitely one to avoid
