We offer a back to basics approach, this means you arrive with your lodgings, , pop into the pub to pay for your stay and youre done! With a pub right on your doorstep, what more could you want?
We dont offer electric hook-up, showering or washing up facilities, but toilets are located in the pub and are open to campers all night. Fresh drinking water is available outside.
Why not pay us a visit for dinner and drinks and then spend the night getting back to nature in our Back to Basics camping field? The next day you can enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the Norfolk Broads National Park.
The river Ant is just 500 yards away, with a small shop that sells almost anything you could desire, a cafe open from 9.30am for breakfast, a curiosity shop which has some very interesting wood carvings amongst other items, and an angling shop.
Come and join us for a friendly atmosphere, with food served all day from 12 noon until 8pm (summer only). The Dog Inn is a child and dog friendly pub.
We have altered the outside seating area and car park extensively over the winter of 2020/21, to allow more seating and parking.
Our campsite overlooks open fields towards the village of Thurne for as far as the eye can see.
We have a relaxed approach to people staying with us, which perfectly suits the basic facilities that we provide, not asking much except that you respect other campers, and clear up after yourselves and your dogs. We have no specific check in or out times.
We DO NOT allow fires in any form, and Barbeques only if they are a proper BBQ raised well off the ground.
A boatyard that hires dayboats, and a low set-in point for those who have brought canoes or kayaks.
Cycling is another favourite, with our low lying landscape we have beautiful cycling and walking routes on our doorstep.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT HAVE SHOWER FACILITIES OR ELECTRIC HOOK-UP.

Nearby Attractions
Approximately 500 yards from the River Ant, 6 miles from Stalham and within 10 miles of the sea with many miles of sandy beaches. We are situated between Norwich and Great Yarmouth, about 15 miles from each, with all the attractions they have to offer.
Day boat and bicycle hire available at Ludham Bridge,and many miles of walks along country lanes, on fields and along the river.
We are close to the picturesque house and gardens of How Hill, with the atmospheric St. Benets Abbey approximately 1 mile away in the other direction, with a circular walk along the bank of the river Ant, and through rural farmland.
Bewilderwood adventure experience is around 3 miles away, a fantastic experience for children and young adults alike.
