A fab campsite for a good price.
Easy going and friendly.
Pub toilets left open with lights and heating.
Great for a short stopover.
Would definitely go again if we were in the area.
Pub food good and The Kings Head in Ludham village good too.

Lovely basic campsite good food at the pub. Lovely area. Beautiful surroundings.
I can't complain although would be nice to get showers.
We were only there one night and knew what to expect so showers not a problem

Great for back to basic camping. Short walk to the river and local shop for basics.
A mile or so to the village for more shops (butchers chemist local grocery shop).
Food at The Dogg Inn is great but very busy best to get in early for food.

My opinion of the dog inn, is that I find it a good camp site, the only gripe I have with this site is that, as the proprietor says, it's a back to basics site, being there are no showers whatsoever and I find it hard to believe in this day and age that you just have to wash down as best you can.
Having said that, the toilets are very clean and open 24 hours, ( no mirror for shaving)
The camp site is good, lush green grass just off a main road, not too big a site but big enough
Ideal for cycling. nr the village of ludham where you have a good pub, kings, live music on friday night. just a short cycle ride 2 miles
It's probably my 4 visit to the dog and always
There's a good restaurant in the dog, with good selection of meals and drink.
Marks out of 10, 7, as there's no showers.

Stayed at The Dog Inn for 2 nights over the last May Bank holiday. Stayed before and live an hour away so very familiar with the area.
The camping field is a large, freshly mowed meadow with a very slight incline which is closest to the road. The field has fencing all around and access via gates. There is a children's play area to one end.
We love to pitch along the fence furthest from the road and face our doorway so we can sit relaxing overlooking the broads in the distance.
There is a drinking water tap in the field and campers have access to the pub toilets 2hrs a day.
This is a back to basics campsite and for us, it's perfect.
If the owners ever installed a shower/washing up room we would most certainly stay again and for longer periods. A price increase would obviously warrant this over the £10 per night charge as it is now.
Noise is kept to a minimum. The road isn't intrusive and the pub music stops at 10pm I think.
If you are in the area, worth a stop. We'll be back.

Situated virtually next door to the Broadland Caravan Club Site, the Dog Inn is a CL / CS type site not affiliated to either Club.
I would say that pitching area is a generously sized for around 10 - 15 pitches and located next to the pub’s car park and the road, so traffic noise is unavoidable. At currently £8 / per night for tent or ‘van, you can’t grumble.
Water tap is conveniently located on one side of the pitching area and chem disposal is into the pub wc which is open 24 hrs.
Pub itself is unpretentious and usually has 2 or 3 real ales on; Woodfords this time. Food is good value with all mains currently less than £10 and sweets £3. 75
Nearest local shop is Ludham Stores for your basics, and everything else at Lathams, Potter Heigham.
To sum up: If it is cheap and cheerful you want, look no further.

Ok so I will be the first to review this site. Excellent vale for money I think we paid either £10 or £12 per night for 2 people. We had a nice welcome for the man in the pub who was friendly and helpful. We were able to pitch where we wanted to on the field. The pub was nice and had a couple of real ales on. The village is about 1/2 hour walk. There is a road at the side of the pub that takes you directly to the village. The village has a nice pub which looks as though they sell decent (the menu look good with plenty of choice).
The field for camping was gated and flat and well maintained. No showers but access to the toilets in the pub is 24/7 so no problem. The site is on a tourist route road and is quite busy although this didn't bother us. All in all a good site with fair clean facilities that are well maintained nd offers good value for money. Yes, we would return for a short stay if we were in the area.
