Welcome to Williamwood, one of the best kept secrets in Dumfries and Galloway.
Constructed in 2021 to give year-round all-weather access with facilities including EHUs, a disabled WC, shower and kitchen in the farmyard, the site is surrounded by the 300 acre farm, which is managed for wildlife as well as cattle and sheep
Motorhomes, Touring Caravans and Tents welcome.
On arrival probably the first thing you will notice is the long drive in and the magnificent hedges on either side. Next, may notice the exceptional numbers of birds which fly out of them. Welcome - youve arrived at Williamwood, where farming and nature go hand-in-hand and provide a wonderfully expansive setting for your stay.

We work hard to keep our site to a high standard and to foster an environment which allows you to relax in comfort; and to explore the wonders of nature, if you wish, with or without your camera. Most of our visitors take away lots of photographs as well as happy memories. We hope you will too.
Williamwood is an ideal location from which to explore some of the most stunning countryside Scotland has to offer, with the benefit of being close to some of the greatest cities, like Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Cattle and sheep breeding are our main farming activities. We have three herds of cattle, a Highland herd, (the ones with the horns) a herd of Beef Shorthorns and a cross breed using the Shorthorn bull with our highland cows to produce a herd of Luing cattle, (pronounced ‘Ling after the Scottish Island).
Our sheep are a Welsh hill sheep breed called Lleyn (pronounced ‘Clin), they have lovely white faces and are very hardy. Like Old Macdonald we also keep many animals as pets and for our younger visitors enjoyment: Our Donkey Luke aka Donkey, Widgey the pig, Wonkey and Amy the sheep and their goaty friends are resident in the kiddies play park.
Kids Play Area at Williamwood Farm
Theres lots to do and see around Williamwood farm including our play area for kids which sits within our small animal enclosure for sheep, goats and various other furry friends. This area will keep the little ones entertained during your holiday in Scotland.
Created in 2014, our play area and mini farm has been a big success with our guests. Swings, slides, climbing tubes, sand pit and vintage tractor sit safely together in this purpose built area.
Open the gate to feed the sheep and goats when its feeding time. Tottie the pig lives here too. A family holiday just doesnt get better than that!
The play area sits along from the pony arena and youre welcome to use it whenever you wish.
Our play area for our younger visitors is always very popular and with so many of our little guests returning we needed to have something new for them so during Autumn 2016 we added a little Wendy House, complete with a very loud door bell!, telephone, cooker and sink - really everything a little person needs to make a that imaginary feast for Mum and Dad. Never fear, the resident goats cannot get in!!
