Description

This is a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, which accept caravans or motorhomes and usually tents. This is a club member only site - you can usually join on site

Ilex Farm Camp site is situated in beautiful, peaceful and rolling Derbyshire countryside. The campsite is on 3 level terraces offering unobstructed views across the valley with tree lined slopes to offer privacy and shade between them.

An ideal camp site to stay at if you want to visit and explore the unlimited places of interest and beauty in the Peak District National Park. Plenty of opportunities to visit wonderful country houses as Chatsworth House, Hadden Hall and the historic Bolsover Castle. While the historic market towns of Chesterfield and Bakewell are just 6 and 10 miles away and the spar towns of Matlock Bath and Buxton close to explore, the Peak District has some thing of interest for everyone.

Our site is quiet and peaceful just right to put your feet up and enjoy a well deserved rest or a leisurely stroll with your dog. There are plenty of easy and interesting walks from the campsite and if you are more active some good bike rides.

We can accommodate up to:

5 Touring Caravans and motor homes
10 Tents and Trailer Tents
Our facilities include:

Hard standing pitches with or without electric hook up
Grass pitches with or without electric hook up
Chemical toilet disposal point
Fresh Water taps
Grey water disposal and Litter bins
Dogs are welcome but normal rules apply regarding behaviour and cleanliness
We can offer battery charging facilities
Ice packs can be refrozen
Local amenities include:

Fishing ponds - 1 mile - require licence
Golf - at either Matlock - 5 miles or Shirland just 3 miles away
Ogston Reservoir - Sailing - 1 mile
Multiplex Cinema in Chesterfield - 6 miles

Summer Rallies

During the summer months we are able to offer a large flat field to hold rallies on. If you are a member of a club or group of fiends who wish to hold a summer events or meeting then please get in contact for more details.

Owner Directions

Arriving from the M1 from either J28 or J29 take the A61 to Clay Cross. At the traffic lights in Clay Cross turn downhill on to Clay Lane. Proceed for about 1/4 mile the road bears left into country lane fields on both sides. Continue along the lane for about 3/4 mile over slight rise past 2 cottages on the right hand side of road and as the road starts to rise Ilex Farm is on the right hand side before the village of Handley itself.
