Description
This is a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, which accept caravans or motorhomes and usually tents.
Pitches: 15
Opening Dates next year: 01/04/2025 to 31/10/2025
Located at the most northern point of Barra and is less than 50 meters from the pure white mile long sandy beach.
The site overlooks the Sound of Barra towards the Islands of Eriskay and South Uist and has excellent views of many of the surrounding uninhabited Islands.
This certified site has limited pitches available, all on grass on compacted soil with the option of hook-ups if required
A new modern toilet and shower block has recently been added, chemical deposit point, Laundry facilities, an indoor drying & storage area for bikes, garden furniture, surf boards, ect, or drying off your water proofs or awnings before packing should the weather turn damp. Washing lines are provided as are a couple of large barbecues.
Our site shop offers a variety of fresh and frozen fish and shellfish as well as basic provisions and camping equipment including gas which is becoming increasingly difficult to source on the Islands.
Prepared sea food meals are available on site from our "Fish Box Kitchen" catering unit.
We also hire out paddle-boards and sit on Kayaks to the public so don`t be slow to book your boards and make the most of our shallow sandy beaches.
Child friendly dog are welcome and must be on a lead at all times on site.
Half a minutes walk from your pitch takes you to the mile long white sandy beach, traigh Scurrival, which extends onwards to several other beaches to link with our famous Traigh Mhor, beach runway and Airport. To the west are the Atlantic facing dunes and beaches with breakers popular with surfers
The sites location gives great shelter from most wind directions which is often important as the winds can blow up very quickly in these parts.
This is a very peaceful location with little but the sound of the wild birds and the occasional seals singing on a calm evening to break the silence.
The area is also listed as a conservation area for rare birds and wildlife there are a host of wild flowers and orchids around the site.

Owner Directions
From the Airport building continue one mile North into the village of Eoligarry. Take a left at the 1st junction until you come to a graveyard where there is a 2nd junction. Take a left until you come to a 3rd junction and bus shelter, take a left. Continue for 1.1 mile. Midway you will pass a pebble beach on the left then four detached homes on the left. At this point you will pass a campsite on the left and 200 meters down a slight incline you will come to Croft No.2 Caravan & Campsite. There is a sign on the gate post entrance.
