We are open from 2nd June 2020. Camping & Gites La Foret de Tesse has a 10 pitch campsite with 8 grass pitches on hard ground, 1 fully serviced hard standing pitch and 1 hard standing pitch. We also have 2 fully furnished bell tents each with their own cooking cabins and a 1 bedroom gite to rent. The camping field is completely separate from the gite that has a separate entrance and a courtyard.
The campsite is on approximately 1 acre level green field adjoining our property. The unmarked grass pitches are very spacious; there is plenty of room to enjoy. There are shady areas if you would like shelter from the sun. The pitches have water, electricity (10 Amp), most have picnic tables. Other facilities: • 10m x 5m in-ground swimming pool • Modern showers with disabled facilites • Motorhome service point+chemical disposal • Free WIFI (there is also good reception for satellite domes) • Selection of bicycles for hire • Baby bathing facility • Laundry facilities • Fridge freezer for guests camping in tents
Although we are in a rural location, we are only 10 minutes drive away from Ruffec with all amenities. This is an ideal stopover location. We are approximately half way between the ferry ports and Spain and Portugal.There is easy access to the main route to South of France, Spain and Portugal. The N10 non-toll motorway is 10 minutes drive, the A10 motorway is 30 minutes drive away. Dogs are welcome. The campsite is situated on the edge of Grosbouth, a peaceful hamlet in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region (was Poitou Charente) in South West of France. Here you can really experience the tranquility of French rural living. Long hot summers and a warm spring and autumn means outside dining is possible from April till the end of October. With no light pollution we have the most amazing clear night skies. We are surrounded by farmland and small woodland. We are well located for Cognac, La Rochelle, Futuroscope / Poitiers and Angouleme.

For an easy route please use the A10/E5 or the N10 motorway. Leave N10 motorway at Ruffec (Postcode: 16700) exits for ‘D26 then head towards Bernac/Montjean/Sauze Vaussais. After about 4 miles at Montjean the road bends to the right, after the bend take the first left signposted for La Foret de Tesse. The road immediately splits into two,keep left on the D303. Keep going straight and you get into La Foret de Tesse, the Mares building and the church will be on your right. Carry on straight out of the village.Keep going straight, you will come to a cross road with a crucifix, keep going straight signposted to Grosbout and L'Houmelee. After the Grosbout village sign the road bends to the right a horse paddock on your right. After the bend at the junction turn left. The entrance to our campsite is on the right.
