Description
This is a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, which accept caravans or motorhomes and usually tents.

Ernies Plot is an adult only and dog friendly campsite. With stunning views of Colmers Hill. A glorious place to catch a fantastic sunrise and sunset with the beautiful surrounding countryside, early risers may catch a glimpse of the wildlife, deer and foxes.
Our 8 pitches are open all year round, with double width hard standing. Each pitch has its own water supply and electric hook up, these are coin operated (£1 & £2)
The facilities offer two modern separate toilets (Code to enter) with each having a shower which is operated with a 50p coin. One cubicle has underfloor heating.
There are grey and Elsan waste disposal points and bins for general waste and recycling
There is an information shed with local area information and bus timetable. We sell a small supply of general essentials, a fridge that has milk and local dairy products, a freezer with Purbeck ice cream. Fresh eggs are available daily should the hens decide to lay…
Daily newspapers can be ordered by request on arrival.
We are a 10min walk from the Symondsbury Estate which has a pub on route the Ilchester Arms, worth a visit for good food. The estate has a cafe, shops, art and crafts, and a small animal farm.
Bridport town is about a 20min walk or 5 mins on the bus which the stop is situated outside the site down the road. The town hosts a market every Wednesday and Saturday selling locally grown produce, with many places to eat and drink
We are located just off the A35, with a 2min drive into Bridport from site.
The site is ideal for countryside walks, hiking and cycling.
Our pitches are priced at £23 per night. A deposit to be made on booking which can be paid by making a bank transfer or cheque.
Nearby Attractions
Westbay (known for filming TV drama Broadchurch) Eype beach, Golden Cap(at 191meters the highest point on the South coast) & the quaint village of Burton Bradstock
Weymouth - Abbotsbury Swannery, subtropical gardens and village are worth a visit, with beautiful coastal views of the Fleet Lagoon & Chesil Beach
Charmouth - Lyme Regis are both famous for fossil hunting & home of the famous Mary Anning palaeontologist, situated along the Jurassic coastline
Sidmouth - which has a donkey sanctuary on route
All these coastal areas can be accessed by car or the X53 & X51 bus. Also the open top bus is great in fair weather
The county town of Dorchester is within easy reach with a market on Wednesdays & has a good mix of eateries & independent shops. Also boasts a variety of Museums. Close by is the famous new town of Poundbury, well known for being planned & executed by now King Charles 111
Eggardon Hill is an impressive Iron age hill-fort with stunning surrounding country & coastal views

Owner Directions
West on the A35 from Dorchester, follow around Bridport, signed posted Hontion, until you see the sign for Symondsbury (Miles Cross) turn right, then almost immediately left to Symondsbury. The site is straight away on your right.
Heading East from Hontion on the A35 after you have passed through Chideock take the first left turning for Bridport and Symondsbury left again to Symondsbury site is on your right.
