Stayed at Ernie’s Plot again as it has to be one of the best sites in this part of the country.
Pitches are large, nicely spaced out from your neighbour so you’re not intruding on each other and a view out over the fields with the hills of Dorset in the background.
The toilets and showers are spotless with Nic and Adam the owners cleaning them at least twice a day.
Each pitch has its own water and a meter fo pay for your electricity, we used £9 in 7 days that was with the fridge on permanently, the kettle, microwave and tv used also on a daily basis.
Nic and Adam have time to have a chat with you and offer advice on places to visit during your stay.
Bridport is a pleasant 20 minutes walk into town or a 5 minute drive with plenty of car parking available and 5 Motorhome bays in the bus station car park.
Buses are cheap and run on time and for a couple of pounds you can explore the Dorset coast from Lyme Regis and Axminster to Weymouth and beyond all caught from a bus stop a couple of hundred yards from the site entrance.
If you fancy a drink and a bite to eat the Illchester Arms by the Symondsbury estate offers great beer and wine and top quality home cooked dinners(Sunday roasts are amazing) but be sure to book a table.
Without a doubt a great site with only 8 pitches, we will return

We really like this site hence this was our third visit. Bridport is walkable, around 40 mins.
Nice walk up to Symondsbury where there are walks up to Colmar Hill and further.
Good pub in Symondsbury and some interesting shops and cafe in the estate buildings.
Site itself is all hardstandings so no problems whatever the time of year or weather.
Facilities on site clean and although there is a 50p charge for the shower it lasts much longer than either of us needed.
We will definitely visit again.
Electricity is either a set fee or metered.

Fantastic CL with good views including that of the owner's Jacob Sheep.
2 spotlessly clean bathrooms with toilet handbasin and shower.
Reasonably priced per night as the on pitch electric is metered so could be expensive on chilly nights.
Owner is very hard working and wling to please with two lovely doggies, Willow and Fern.
Slight noise from the nearby very busy A35 but got used to this after a day or two.
I think what we enjoyed the most from this site
Within a 20 min walk you could get on a bus to take you via Bridport to Axminster or Weymouth or anywhere between including West Bay (highly recommended) and also a 15 minute walk to the local Ilchester Arms,
All in all a great weeks holiday, we would love to return.

Just got home from an amazing 4 night stay at Ernies Plot near Bridport,
The pitches are enormous and the owners Nicola and Adam are such welcoming people, along with their two little doggies Willow and Fern.
The facilities are spotless and even though you have to pay by meter for your electric it is far from expensive, we calculated that we spent less than £2 per day add 50p for your shower and it is a bargain.
The views are amazing and every pitch has a clear outlook of them, the chickens, ducks and sheep add to it's charm.
There is some noise from the road but you can't have a site that is easy to get to without it being by a road, on saying that we didn't find it annoying, just seemed to blend into the background as you sat and gazed at the view of Colmer Hill.
Will definitely be going back there to stay as it it so handy for beaches and the towns.

Lovely site with stunning views.
Pitches are a good size, all with hardstanding and grass.
The facilities were kept very clean during our visit.
Nice little shop with a few essentials available on site, also some information about local places.
Great walks directly from the site and an easy walk into Bridport town centre as well.
Will definitely be returning here.

We booked late over the phone and had the last pitch no 8 at the other end of the field furthest away from x2 Toilets/showers, not a problem as its only 8 pitches away, very clean and tidy showers which are 50p and you get ample time.
Pitches are double hard standing each has water and electric which uses £1 or £2 coins. We stayed 3 nights and only used about £3-50 using our normal appliances much better than paying per night,
There is a busy road behind the plot but we didn't really notice it the view is facing a small holding owned by the campsite sheep and chickens the village about 1/2 mile away has a tea room and a few outlets around it.
The village pub is really nice palmers real ale, quality local food from 5-30 pm pub closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, large beer garden.
We walked up the local hill Colmer's hill lovely shaded walk but very uneven in places until you get to the last part which gets quite steep in open fields well worth it for the view you can see the top from your pitch it took about 1hr to climb.
Bridport is a good 20 min walk, market day is Wednesday and Saturdays
Overall a very nice site Adults only and open all year round we'll be back many times with friends

What can I say, a great site.
The pitches are fantastic all looking out over the fields and Jacobs sheep and Colmer Hill.
Each pitch has metered EHU ( we used approx £1.50 a day for the fridge, microwave, kettle and hot water)and water the pitches are all hard standing with a great bit of well manicured lawn adjacent to it.
The shower and toilet facilities are immaculate and the shower is on a meter 50 pence for approx 10 minutes…. More than enough for most people.
The owners Nic and Adam are friendly and come and say hello to you everyday and make sure everything is ok a nice personal touch!
The little information shed has all the info you need for exploring the area and one or two restaurants and take away menus. It also has a little store selling essential items and a fridge and freezer with milk, butter and bacon and eggs etc.
The freezer stocks local sourced Purbeck ice cream all flavours personally endorsed by my other half!
Bridport town is a 20 minute walk and The Symondsbury Estate is another little treasure a 10 minute walk down the Lane, unfortunately the local pub the Illchester Arms was closed whilst we were there but has some very good reviews of it on trip advisor.
Overall a great site for exploring this part of Dorset, would I return yes without a doubt!

Great location within easy walking distance of Bridport which holds a brilliant market on Wednesday and Saturday.
We visited on a Saturday and it was very lively with a good range of independent stalls and indeed shops in the town.
Many other walks direct from the site and a good pub at Symondsbury just 20 minute stroll away. We walked to the coast at Eype mouth and west bay.
Excellent clean facilities and very helpful owner Nicola. Lovely views from the picnic tables provided and Jacob sheep and their lambs were a bonus!
Although there was road noise from the A35 it didn’t detract from our stay and certainly wasn’t loud enough to disturb our sleep.
Please don’t be put off by the metered electricity - we were here for 5 nights and only spent £6. We used fridge, microwave most evenings and usual phone and camera charging.
We will definitely return !
