The nearest touring Caravan & Motorhome park to the Eastern side of the unspoilt, and virtually undiscovered Northern Fells, yet only an easy 15 minutes from J41 of the M6. . The CARAVAN CLUB CL area: (1 acre) Preliminary, Riverside was born as a Caravan Club Certificated Location (CL), in 1997, and part of it is still maintained as one. Our one acre lawned CL is just out of the Hamlet of Millhouse, adjacent a quiet unclassified road, being secluded and well away from noise of main roads.
The dominating River Caldew and its tributary Beck,(Gillcambon) which actually converge on the site, are completely open and accessible to site use
Nearby Attractions
The nearest Lakeland, (northern) Fells, (Carrock, High Pike, Bowscale, Southerfell, Great Calva, Skiddaw and Blencathra) are only 5 minutes up the road, which are popular with walkers who prefer solitude and the quietness, discovering untrod-den territory, with no problems parking your car, unlike the mid and south fells of the Lake District which are becoming crowded.
Lots of walks of the local fells can be found in "AW Wainwrights book no.5" which covers the Northern Fells.
There are also foot paths leading from adjacent the site entrance, and from the Hamlet of Millhouse.
Also, the local roads are virtually traffic free, and lend themselves perfectly to walking and cycling.
