We’ve just returned from a fantastically relaxing weekend at Riverside Tourer Park. The owners John and Gill must be extremely proud of their beautiful park.

The grounds are immaculate, whether that be the manicured grass, the carefully trimmed hedging and conifers (I cant even begin to guess the amount of hours that goes into keeping those neat and crisp), to the wonderfully clean and wide pitches.

The privacy hedging that borders most pitches really does make for your own secluded little haven, which was definitely appreciated by our Diva Dachshunds.

This was our first visit to Riverside and a first use of an adult only site. It wont be our last either, the only noise I could hear during the first day was the odd distant cuckoo and the relaxing hoot of an Owl during the night, just lovely.

The river gently flowing along the site adds to the relaxing ambience and the picnic benches dotted near the river (and around the site) are a nice touch as are the bird feeders on every pitch. There is a lovely dog walk literally 3 or 4 steps from the entrance where you can meander around the local fields which our dogs enjoyed.

The only downside is that we had to leave for home far too early. We absolutely loved Riverside so much so we’re right this second looking at dates when we can come back this year and next. Thank you John and Gill for allowing fellow campers to take up temporary residence in your wonderful park.

Idyllic setting, stream, birds, sound`s of the country side. Within reach via country roads of major towns.

Facilities absolutely clean and tidy with imaginative toilets and showers. All looked after by John and Gill.

Hard standings with grass. A delight. Have stayed here several times and always brings a smile to our faces. JimCar.

What a lovely peaceful site the owners are on top of things feeding the bird feeders and squirrel feeders checking the toilets and the showers, bins etc.

When we were there there was a charity event held at the other end of the village with professional bungow drums country singers. The owners advised everyone on the site and we were invited to join if we wanted to.

We return to this site as we love the peace and quiet at the picnic benches by the water. The only sounds are water in the river and birds chirping

Stayed several times before, the site is immaculately kept, facilities quirky but perfectly adequate- getting a little tired now but clean.

Owners welcoming and helpful.

Setting in Lake District Fells gorgeous and normally quiet.

This site has always been peaceful in the past but this time we were subjected to an awful neighbours band, awful drums and ridiculously loud, and wailing singer for three hours in the afternoon, totally selfish in this tiny village, the row was all over the site, it drowned out the sound of our TV. Completely spoiled our day, we wouldn’t risk it again.

 Very quiet location

Nice large pitch with 10 amp hookup

Bit of a quirky shower and toilet but useable, could benefit from having a washing up room

But a pleasant stay

This site was excellent, everything was immaculate, never once saw an over flowing bin, the hedgerow and trees so well kept.

Quiet and peaceful day and night.

The area had good walks, the river running along side the site.

Met the owners who were very happy to share their knowledge of the area.

I couldn’t find one negative thing to say. Well done

Small but really pleasant site, quite quirky which made it so appealing.

Everyone we met were nice and seemed to be returning all the time,

Think it will be really nice in the summer.

Giving a 6 for location because we found it quite hard to get too

Nice and quiet, well looked after site.

Toilet and shower were fab.

Very friendly, and the fresh eggs are a must.

A good site for sightseeing other parts of lake district.

We will definitely be again

Just spent a weekend at Riverside tourer.

We wanted a quiet, adult only site for a peaceful relaxing weekend and that is exactly what we got.

The site was immaculately kept and was so thoughtfully set out. I was worried at first as to what to expect of the toilet and shower when I saw two sheds, but to my surprise it was an actual flushing toilet with a real sink! Ha not a portable smelly toilet.

Only thing I would say, is that as dog owners there wasn't really anywhere to walk from the site, where you could let your dog off safely for a good run. But we travelled out anyway so our dogs were pretty shattered by the time we got back.

We will definitely be going back, but with the correct tent pegs for hard standing, as our plastic ones snapped. 😅 armature campers!
