Kingsmead Centre is a small, quiet, independent site situated on the Devon / Somerset border in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Only 10 15 minutes drive from Junction 26 on the M5, we offer a friendly site with excellent proper facilities.

Our site consists of seven acres of various areas for camping. Designed for a proper camping feel, we offer a natural feeling space where everyone can enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside.

Despite the remote feel, you are never far from the essentials. With a toilet and shower block at either end of the site, our recently built lower facilities block boasts generous sized wet rooms with unlimited hot water, a communal washing up area with fridge/freezer and tourist information.

The upper level houses several hard standing pitches for caravans and motorhomes with a newly renovated shower block incorporating heating in the colder months. The upper pitches are easily accessed with plenty of electric hook up points and trees providing shade in the summer months.

The grassy pitches in our lower camping field offer an incredibly tranquil, secluded and sheltered area in which to really feel at one with nature. We also offer a selection of private woodland pitches for tents and additional grass pitches in our overflow meadow during the summer.

Your hosts at Kingsmead are Tristan and Jodie Assisted by our Springer dog Pickles, we strive to offer a truly unique, and peaceful camping experience, which reflects the special qualities of Devon and Somerset

We both feel privileged to have grown up in such a wonderful area and believe it should be accessible for everyone including their pets As a result we offer a range of accommodation from a simple grass pitch to luxuriously furnished, hand crafted yurt, where you can come and stay for a couple of nights or a long summer break

Whatever type of stay you are looking for, there is always a warm welcome at Kingsmead

The site is an excellent base for walking, cycling and riding with beautiful countryside surrounding you in every direction The Blackdown Hills A O N B office produce an excellent set of walking, cycling and riding maps for the whole of the area which are available for free on site, and from the Blackdown Hills A O N B link from our website

Given our central location you can also use us as a base to explore the Somerset Levels, Dorset`s Jurassic Coast, Exmoor and Dartmoor and all within 30 50 minutes drive

The site itself is set on the side of a valley in beautiful countryside and woodlands It is mainly grass with some hard standings available Toilet and shower facilities are basic, clean and functional with no additional charges for hot water

Pets are welcome, but must be looked after responsibly

There are four self catering static vans available for hire year round and a small shop onsite.

Nearby Attractions

In the immediate environs there are a large number of walking, cycling and riding trails along with any number of excellent country pubs to stop at along your way
