Andrew and Jane welcome you to are small caravan and camping site close to the Galloway forest Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland.

Within walking distance there are places in the woods were dogs can be let roam under supervision.

The site is easy to find with access from the A713 200 yards on the left past the Polmaddy turning, between St John`s Town Of Dalry and Carsphairn the road.

There are 5 hard standings for caravans and motorhomes £19 electric hook up available on request.

There is a grass area for 6 tent pitches with a picnic table available from £14 some with electric hook up, available on request.

Drinking water is on site.

Chemical toilet with grey water disposal is available.

Toilet and Shower Block with washing machine

There are Red squirrels in the local woodland.

Close by is the Polmaddy ancient settlement.

We are near an old village settlement ruin `Polmaddy` which was abandoned in the 19th century (1800 drs). You may wish to take local walks or venture further afield.

At Carsphairn there are the old abandoned lead mines this is a two mile walk from Carsphairn with stunning views over the Galloway hills.

If you would like a more challenging walk you could venture up the Merrick this is 9.5 mile a moderate walk for those with country walking experience and good fitness levels, Merrick is the highest mountain in the South of Scotland 875m with incredible views not only from the top but from many points on the way.

Hawkrigg camping site is easy to find with access from the A713 if you are coming from the south, 200 yards on the left past the Polmaddy turning between 5 miles north of St John`s Town Of Dalry.

From the north it is on the right 4 miles south of Carsphairn before you get to Polmaddy.
