Description
Pitches: 50
Opening Dates next year: 01/04/2025 to 30/09/2025
In the magical Test Valley is Rowbury Farm Camping, your base to discover an overlooked part of rural England. Our campsite is set in a wildflower meadow in the beautiful Hampshire countryside with views across the valley to Danebury Iron Age hill fort.
There are 50 large pitches available on 11 acres (that is more than 6 football pitches!).
There are no buildings nearby, so there is no light pollution at night and we keep the site quiet.
We have a block of toilets and showers in purpose-built units, which are of good quality and provided with hot water. The mens block is a shared facility with 3 showers, 2 toilets and some urinals. We have a large family unit with a shower and toilet; this has plenty of space for joint use with children. For the ladies there are two single-occupancy shower-toilet units and a separate toilet. We have received many compliments about our facilities!
We have a washing up area with 2 large twin-basin stands. We do not have fridges or charging facilities on site, but we do have a freezer for recharging cold packs.
Firepits to use free of charge
Dogs are welcome
We are within 25 minutes drive of the cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester and right next to a national cycle route.
For those essential barbecue ingredients The Clatford Village shop is a mile down the road in Goodworth Clatford.
There is pub-dining aplenty, with the Clatford Arms and Royal Oak in Goodworth Clatford, The Mayfly just down the Test Way and The Peat Spade Inn in Longstock has an excellent reputation. There are several great pubs in Stockbridge and nearby villlages If you dont feel like camp cooking….
There are magnificent walks in the watermeadows and over the Hampshire chalk downland.
Rowbury farm campsite is a place to chill out with family and friends, listen to birdsong, wander country paths and sit around a campfire with a cold beer in the evening.
Nearby Attractions
Test valley is riddled with public footpaths, permissive bridleways, and way-marked routes. The Test Way can be as hilly or as flat as you like (here it runs along an old railway line) and the River Anton Way runs 10 miles from the Mayfly pub all the way into Andover.
From the campsite you can see Danebury Hill Fort which, as well as being an amazing viewpoint, has had extensive archaeological excavation. You can peruse some of the findings at Andovers Iron Age Museum.
