Situated on one of the most scenic racecourses in England, Hexham racecourse is a quiet, rural site situated south of hexham with panoramic views , a modern shower block and a small play park for children.
All on grass, some level and some sloping pitches with wide views over the surrounding countryside.
Electric hook up points, modern shower block and small children`s playground.
Dogs are welcome with lots of lovely walks nearby.
Facilities:
40 Touring Sites with Electricity Hook Up Points. Camping Area available Ladies and Gents Toilets, Washrooms and Showers Childrens Play Area Drinking Water, Waste Water, Chemical Disposal Points. Calor gas for those staying on the caravan site. Pets Welcome
Situated two miles south of Hexham, the site provides an ideal base for exploring the ancient market town. With its magnificent abbey founded in 674 ad, moot hall, old gaol and market place, there is also the more modern queens hall which houses the library, art gallery and theatre, there is a cinema and many independent shops, restaurants and eateries, located around the town. The leisure centre has a large indoor pool, gym, bowling alley, a running track and numerous classes.
Hexham has a large leisure centre with indoor pool, ten pin bowling, running track and various classes.
There are many eating places including French, Indian and Chinese restaurants, take aways and a Mcdonalds.
Great choice of supermarkets in Hexham too.
Nearby Attractions
The World Heritage site of the Roman Wall with it`s fascinating history and lovely walks is nearby. The Hopper Bus allows you to walk sections and take the bus back to your car. The beautiful wild scenery of Northumberland national parks and coast are a short drive away. For shopping Corbridge (10 mins) has numerous boutique shops and the Metro Centre (20 mins) has a huge selection of shops.
Killhope wheel where you can venture underground after a beautiful trip across the moors.

From A69 follow directions to Hexham.
This is an easy approach for caravans avoiding the nearer but steeper approach from the centre of Hexham. Approaching Hexham Main Street from East Follow Hexham Main Street to first set of traffic lights (disregarding pelican crossings) turn left up Allendale Road B6305. After three miles come to a T junction on left on the brow of a hill, turn left and follow this road for one and a half miles to the site.
