This is a nice site situated next to the race course with tremendous views and only a short drive into Hexham.
The facilities were good and clean but there were only two showers in the gents so could possibly get quite busy

Had a lovely three days at the racecourse site the amount of work that the racecourse staff put in to make the race day on the following Saturday to make race day a success is a amazing.
We had fabulous views of the of the track and beyond we would have stayed longer but the site is fully booked for race days well before the event the site warden told us.
We will be back hopefully for a race meeting.

Wonderful views and very clean, modern facilities.
On top of bill so can be windy.
Grass pitches overlooking the last furlong of the racecourse.
Single track road approach to site.

Had a front line pitch with absolutely stunning views, was not windy on my stay, but the next morning you could feel the wind building.
Reception was lovely, really helpful, particularly as the pitches are very well spaced - and my electric cable which is normally more than adequate did not reach the hook up point - no problem here as an extension was immediately loaned at no cost.
Lovely quiet site, some nice walks - although you are on the top of the hill so what goes down, must come up!
Gentleman in reception was really welcoming and informative, showed me to my pitch and guided me in (single person, and the pitch is up and down in parts - so he really helped me make sure my unit was level - sometimes really hard on your own).
A plus point to the height is that the TV reception is second to none, so if you have really ghastly weather at least you can hunker down, watch tv and keep cosy.
Would recommend, and thought the site was really well priced.

Lovely two day stay.
Hexham not too far, and had a great visit to Vindaland which was well worth it.
Great toilet block with accessible wash room.
Fantastic 3 mile circular walk down a glen around the racecourse-turn left as you come out, half a mile turn left onto a footpath and follow it round. Lovely, helpful warden.

John the site manager is very friendly he keeps the site very clean and tidy.
Toilets and showers are new. If a race is on you will get front eye view. Sadly it was very windy on our visit and one race was cancelled. Walk into Hexham possible down Steep hill or you can get a bus half way down. We got a taxi back. One cost £4 then £5. 70 from the same company !
Views from this site are absolutely amazing.
Hexham is delightful. Food is 5 star. People are all very friendly. Visit the Abby it is beautiful. Lovely pubs, dogs welcome especially in the pub the North Of Northumberland.
We will be back

The site is very exposed and windy but does have lovely views. Not very many tent pitches and very close together. Not much social distancing being adhered to.
Toilet and shower block is very good and clean although hot water ran out after 8:30am. Very noisy due to Groups of young people partying into the night so not ideal for getting to sleep with kids. No out of hours number to call and no-one around to check or supervise social behaviour or noise etc.
Disappointing overall and won’t be back to this particular site. Been to far better ones where the management provide security Through the night and quickly dampen down any noise and rowdy behaviour.
Good for hen/stag parties maybe but not for families unfortunately.
